What’s for Christmas Eve dinner?

I just got back with a Camembert to bake and a smorgasbord of party nibbles. Many pigs in blankets! All the cheeses and hams. Already have enough booze to open a bar.

my usual healthy diet is having a few days off…

Curious to know what everyone else is having?

Merry Christmas and hope you all have a great one 🎄🎄

Just had duck curry and egg fried rice. My special once every two monthly treat 😁 although £9.80 is extortionate.

They're crafty and I noticed they've cut back on the duck and filling the container by adding onions and mushrooms like they're going out of fashion!

But it was amazingggggg! 😍

Ratatouille, baked potato and cheese!

Homemade lasagne and garlic bread, followed by ice cream!

YellowStockings · 24/12/2025 18:29

I made soup this morning - with roasted veg and coconut milk so it feels decadent rather than miserly - which we'll have with generously buttered sourdough. Then some homemade fruitcake for pudding (followed by lots of chocolate / clementines I'm sure)

I never fancy a big heavy dinner on Christmas eve, I want to save room for tomorrow.

Baked ham, cheese, pate, fresh bread.
Chocs and wine.

FluffyDiplodocus · 24/12/2025 18:54

A melted barbers cheese pot, sourdough for dipping, some veggie spring rolls, hot honey feta bites and olives. And a fancy rum truffle from the bakers - they’re really big and rich in case it sounds like I’m just eating a pitiful single chocolate for pudding! And drinking Prosecco 🥂

A beef burrito 🌯

ABeerInTheSunshineMakesMeHappy · 24/12/2025 18:59

It was meant to be McDonalds but I seem to have messed up putting my McPlant burger on the order. I ordered the breadcrumbed cheesy bites as a side so I’ve eaten them in a sandwich, but I’m still hungry. Have a fridge full of snacky bits but wasn’t planning on starting on them tonight. Might just have some cereal and fruit.

Slow home cooked beef casserole with pancetta and mushrooms. Lots of buttery mashed potatoes and tender stem broccoli. Morello cherry brownie tart with whipped cream for pudding courtesy of Waitrose.

BillieWiper · 24/12/2025 19:02

I wanted a cheese toastie with Comte but all the breads gone mouldy. Can't be arsed to go out or make some. 😭

A Camembert wreath between 2, piggy but so delicious!

Sirzy · 24/12/2025 19:07

We do a chippy with my parents and brother ever Christmas Eve while playing some games as a family.

now I’m home and considering starting on the cheese.

MrsLeonFarrell · 24/12/2025 19:18

Salmon fillets, new potatoes and steamed green veg. I secretly prefer this to the turkey roast but I'm the only one!

Theonlyfatmiddleagedwomannotonmonjaro · 24/12/2025 19:25
