What’s for Christmas Eve dinner?

I just got back with a Camembert to bake and a smorgasbord of party nibbles. Many pigs in blankets! All the cheeses and hams. Already have enough booze to open a bar.

my usual healthy diet is having a few days off…

Kebabs with onion rings and cheese sticks

have my husband's best friend and his wife and our two teen goddaughters arriving at 4 pm for a 6 pm feast with us. We have the board games (monopoly, uno, jenga) ready to go. we are in a hot country so the bbq will be on. I have prepped honey bbq chicken skewers, veg skewers, filapino bbq pork tenderloin skewers , double stuffed potatoes with bacon chives and cheese, inside the house we have mexican corn salad, curried cold rice with shrimp and peas salad, yes,,pigs in blankets, chicharron in the airfryer and prawn torpedos. (basically giant prawns seasoned and wrapped in spring roll wrappers and in the airfryer. I have two large ones.. with 3 shelves in each so all is good lol. (the second one only breaks out of its cupboard when needed. I am done all my prep..just cleaning up a few things, then heading upstairs for a bit of a nap while my husband sets the table and mops the floor in the kitchen lol

Take away , we can't decide between pizza or chinese. I am leaning towards chinese .

Allll the cheese, pears, walnuts, chutneys, crackers. Plus ham and sausage rolls for DH. Not too much wine as we’re up at stupid o’clock to go to MILs.

we always order a take away on Xmas Eve….ive worked all day today so now I'm home it’s time to relax.

Usually have an Indian. Had venison last year and it was so good we’re doing that again this year, with dauphinois potatoes and various sides. Chocolate tart for later.

Salmon wellington, new potatoes and some vegetables, I don’t know what he’s doing out there (it’s generally safer to stay out of the way!!)

A surprise meal of "mystery meat" taken at random from the freezer; DS has volunteered to do the honours this evening!

Chinese takeaway

Im doing dinner tonight ... then just 2 days of leftovers. Tomorrow is a long walk and then cheese ....

Selection of cheeses, pork pie, pickled onions, ham, baguettes, crisps, Yule log and wine.

Tomorrow’s massive Indian takeaway has just arrived and is cooling in the kitchen ready to go in the fridge. It smells amazing.

Raclette with potatoes, cured meats, salad and pickles. Chocolate orange trifle for pud.

We have baguettes, grapes, strawberries, pears, a variety of cheeses and hams.

We are going out…… for a curry 🥂

Chinese pork burnt ends with mini cheesy hash browns. Kelly's ice cream for dessert.

Snacks of scampi fries 🤤, bacon fries, tyrells beef and peppercorn crisps and some pretzels this evening. The celebrations have been opened already.

Washed down with some pineapple cider (for me) and IPA (for him).

Golden fish pie (smoked haddock, cod, in a cheesy sauce made with red Leicester, golden vegetable mash on top), peas, tiramisu for dessert or home made stollen for anyone who doesn't want tiramisu. Or fruit. Lots of satsumas!

Cheese sandwich and a can of Tango

Chinese food! (From the Chinese takeaway.) Veggie curry, chips, sweet and sour sauce, veggie spring rolls, prawn crackers, veggie chow mein. 😋

Homade wild goose pie. Fish Pie. Vegan pizza.

Fancy fish pie for me and dh - it has scallops in it, I’m very excited!

the kids have requested sausage and mash!
