How much do you spend on nieces / nephews?

I have 4 nephews and 1 niece on both mine and partners side of family. They range in age from 9- 17. im finding it hard with the older ones to pin point a price tag for gifts. My sister is very well off and tends to go crazy on my children which stresses me out. How much do you spend on your N/N?

About £20 each but more or less if there's something perfect. We had kids first so we roughly matched what they were spending.

christmasideers · 17/12/2025 20:07

One side of the family have a strict budget so we spend £25 each on them.

The other side it varies depending on what they want/what I decide to buy them. This year I’ve spent about £50 each on them but in previous years it has ranged from £15-60.

AlwaysADramaHadEnough · 17/12/2025 20:08

Used to be £25 but we all stopped 4 years ago and concentrated on our own households. Best thing we ever done. No stress. The extra cash we spend on our own families for a day out or whatever

£30 each for my 2 .. x

ThePerfectTimeToPanic · 17/12/2025 20:10

About £100 on each. From reading threads on here before though, I think we’re at the higher end.

Didntask · 17/12/2025 20:11

They all get £30 each in a money wallet (if they're part of a couple, £50 between them). With my lot, thats over £500. That'll do.

TheOpalReader · 17/12/2025 20:13

£50-70 for Christmas and the same for birthday. I have a very small family so only one to buy for.

Nourishinghandcream · 17/12/2025 20:14

We have seven nieces & nephews and four great nieces & nephews.

The nieces & nephews are all grown up so really only get token gifts costing around £25-30 each.
Two great nephews are older (at uni) so got £100 (cash) each. The others are much younger so about £50 each (mixture of cash & gifts).

RichPetuniaAgain · 17/12/2025 20:15

Zero. We do a secret Santa for the adults instead.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 17/12/2025 20:17

3 nieces, £60 each, but we don’t buy any adult presents for family, other than our 2 DC so that’s the lot.

Queenfreak · 17/12/2025 20:18

We only have 1 niece, and no possibility if others. Likewise we only have 1. We always spend holidays together, and the girls are like sisters. We spend around £100 on her at Christmas, and about £50 for her birthday.
Its what we budget for however we would have no qualms about reducing it if we couldn't afford it.

Same here. I've no kids of my own, so i can do that. All five of them get a Revolut transfer of £100 each. Saves me going shopping! Each to their own and their circumstances though.

3WildOnes · 17/12/2025 20:26

I have spent between £10 and £20 on family children. This includes nieces, nephews, cousins who are under 21 and sone of my adult cousins children. 12 in total.

isthesolution · 17/12/2025 20:28

£40ish

Phonicshaskilledmeoff · 17/12/2025 20:30

8 nieces and nephews - I spend £50 each. BUT i don’t buy for my in laws - just my 2 sisters.

youalright · 17/12/2025 20:32

Aim for £20 spend £40

Purplewarrior · 17/12/2025 20:32

£50 each but there’s only the two of them and I don’t buy for any adults in the family.

Curiousrobin · 17/12/2025 20:33

£30. There are 4 of them!

Fryth · 17/12/2025 20:36

I dont have a limit but I think about £150 on oldest nephew and £40 on baby nephew. But it’s only the two of them.

GameOfJones · 17/12/2025 20:40

£10 ish each. The younger ones get a toy and the teenage ones get a tenner in a card and a selection box. DH and I have have 12 nieces and nephews between us so there is no way we could spend a lot of money on each of them.

DaisyChain505 · 17/12/2025 20:42

I have 11 nieces and nephews so it’s £10 each and it stops once they hit 18.

CandyCaneKisses · 17/12/2025 20:44

No budget. I buy about 5 presents per child but I have to restrain myself and tell myself that is enough. I love them like my own.

suburberphobe · 17/12/2025 20:45

When my nieces and nephews were in education up to about 21 I gifted them £30 each for Xmas and birthdays. Now I've only got 1 niece in education DH and I give her £50 per month to help with student expenses but only gift her £30 for Xmas and birthdays. I helped out her older sister when she was a student too because I knew my younger sister couldn't afford to help her DC out much at uni and I could afford to help them.
