DS2 has just gone to bed, full of salmon "roast chips" and excitement. Hopefully he will not be up at 4-5am for the 3rd morning running.

Presents get lugged downstairs by me, after his breakfast. They don't stand a chance otherwise, whoever they're for. I don't wrap DS1's because he doesn't like it. I have a gift bag that they go in for all gift occasions.

I have a glass of sancerre. It's delicious and I really wish it was kinder to me.

4:30.this morning. He's in full on over-excited PITA mode and DH has been instructed to take him for a long walk, this morning!

Earlier than some days but for once NOT a 4am start here 🤣

I was awake about 6.30am and DS awake about 8.

had breakfast and presents and will bumble for a few hours before heading to my dads about 1.

my bimbling shall include a long bath!

We've had a lovely morning. The dc were all awake by 0930. We've done presents and are just having breakfast.

Only fly i the ointment is that we opened the defrosted turkey to the most horrific smell. Fortunately there is enough other food for it not to be an issue.

Just finished opening the presents only to find there was one from someone who didn't put their name on it! Very intriguing.

DD (adult - staying with me for the first Christmas in years as we’ve been in our own homes and convening later) woke at 6 with a migraine and had to repeats,y puke. I dosed her when I woke just before 8 and she’s had two more hours of sleep. Felt better then, had tea and then puked again. Felt better after, opened presents (all very satisfactory apart from one slightly odd one from her dad - it’s not her main present as that’s a theatre trip so no drama). She’s now gone back to bed for a restorative nap while I have Buck’s Fizz and smoked salmon on toast. I’ve pushed dinner back to about 4 or 5 and shall start prepping in a bit. Hopefully she’ll be ok to eat by then…

Mine have gone to collect their grandmother (good luck to them, she’s probably forgotten it’s Christmas day and isn’t answering the phone), DH is in the shower and I have bunged a few things in the oven and prepped the starters. Lunch around two I think. Turkey was cooked last night.

I am resting with a second glass of Bucks Fizz.

Everything that needs to be in the oven is. Realised I’ve over catered because I’m used to cooking Christmas lunch for a few more people. Felt a bit low about those we’ve lost. But reminding myself to be grateful for who/what we have today.

Willing on a single snow flake here. Jersey had a single snow flake making it officially a white Christmas and that is not on 😂

She’s brightened up a bit and managed to have toast and coffee cooking dinner for 4 ish and she thinks she’ll be ok to eat it then. Thanks for the good wishes!
I may open the champagne.

Hope DD is OK, cardi. My DS had to come home from work three days ago because he threw up. Then he threw up on his bed...

I’m stuffed to the gills and we haven’t had pudding yet. Mr B bought me a beautiful watch I’ve been admiring for the longest time as a thank you for supporting him and not melting down over the last six months. I cried.

It’s been such a laid back, peaceful day here. I hope all of you have had the same.

We are nearly ready to start our dinner, might have overdone it on the pigs in blankets, we'll be eating them for days

Happy Christmas to everyone! We are just starting to put dinner together - everyone has done their bit. Stage one of gifts highly successful, all within spec. The DC clubbed together and got me three Tokyo Tiger cat themed T-shirts and they have picked so, so well!

We are having a pause after starter and main course. DD has rallied brilliantly but is a bit sad she’s had this on Christmas of all days. She’s always been a trouper so has just got on with it. She got me a lovely bracelet, a book and a ticket to Frank Turner. Friends coming round to share pudding/cheese/drinks in a bit.

DH has recently got a Libre continuous blood glucose monitor after some serious hypos and we are running a sweep on the high after dinner. We don't eat until the evening so keenly waiting for the result.
