Blokes taking off their trousers when at home

Is this just my DH or is it common for blokes to take off their trousers and hang around in their pants when at home with no guests around?

I’ve never witnessed this and I’ve lived with men since birth!

Seeline · 26/11/2025 11:39

Not in my experience. Get changed into something comfy, yes. Just pants, no.

mapleriver · 26/11/2025 11:39

I do this and I'm a woman. I hate having my legs trapped. (Not in the winter though it's freezing)

BeNoisyFish · 26/11/2025 11:40

I think i saw that on the inbetweeners or Friday night dinner.
Usually blokes do that if they're about to wank.

I meant to ask if any women do it too, I was presuming some do

My hubby of 25yrs has never done this

Justlostmybagel · 26/11/2025 11:43

My dad and brother do. My dh doesn't.

PashaMinaMio · 26/11/2025 11:45

I’ve got brothers, had a dad and two husbands.

None of them ever wandered around at home without covering their legs.

In my latter experience of men, for myself too, after work it’s rugby pants which are soft, comfortable and cozy and more importantly, courteous to those we live with.

BeNoisyFish · 26/11/2025 11:46

Do they walk around in underwear then or just change into shorts or other trousers like joggers which would be normal at home.

FinallyHere · 26/11/2025 11:46

Don’t know about any man, but in my own home, only ever wear the clothes I need to feel warm enough. Seldom less than bra, pants and teashirt.

why would you ?

DisplayPurposesOnly · 26/11/2025 11:47

If he's lounging around in his underwear, your heating is on too high!

MrsPrendergast · 26/11/2025 11:48

He walks around the house in his underpants? Why? I don't understand. I can see the point in putting shorts/joggers/pj bottoms on, though

Hadalifeonce · 26/11/2025 11:49

My brother is naked at home! He does have learning difficulties, so goes someway to explaining this behaviour. We have at least got though to him that he needs to put shorts on to open his front door.

NuffSaidSam · 26/11/2025 11:50

Both the kids do (one girl, one boy). Not always, but fairly often. Once DC1 got home from school (aged about 6), immediately took his trousers off and said "ahhh....I've been thinking about that all day".

I would, but only in the height of summer because I run cold.

Wow! I'm glad he doesn't answer the door naked any more!

Badslipperluck · 26/11/2025 11:57

DH here wanders around in pants for a bit before re-emerging in pjs. I have to remind him to put trousers on when my older dc are in. To be fair to him though his work clothes are usually dirty so need to come right off.

Eta luckily the older ones have seen plenty of Friday Night dinner so aren't too concerned!

snoopythebeagle · 26/11/2025 11:57

Do you have children? I doubt they want to see their dad in his pants while they watch TV.

LadyWiddiothethird · 26/11/2025 11:59

Never known a man I have lived with do this.Apparently they do in the Czech Republic!

38thparallel · 26/11/2025 11:59

Anyone wandering our house with no trousers on would perish with cold within a few minutes.

MissDoubleU · 26/11/2025 12:00

Not just in his pants unless in bed - a pair of shorts or jammie trousers/comfy bottoms.

Surely isn’t hygienic having him rub his underwear all over all the couches. I wouldn’t especially like an invite over to his house 😅

SquigglePigs · 26/11/2025 12:01

My 6 year old does, but no, no adult men that I know of!

What? .no I wouldn't like this and Dh wouldn't do it.

ImFineItsAllFine · 26/11/2025 12:01

5 yo DS takes his trousers off along with his shoes as soon as he comes through the door. We're trying harder to discourage it now that the weather is so cold, but so far he is adamant.

Disturbia81 · 26/11/2025 12:13

Yes I have, I know why a few who hate being clothed, even my son does it. No sensory issues

Minikievs · 26/11/2025 12:14

My Ex-H used to do this!!! I’d forgotten until I saw your post! It seemed normal at the time (he was the first man I lived with other than my Dad, who never did this!) but now looking back, it’s REALLY WEIRD 😂
