A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

We are bracing for the budget 😬

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

That is very telling.

This nonsense has to stop. I hope the Americans pitch in heavily and this can be unravelled.

I think they get paid don’t they? US that is

Chagos another totally ludicrous decision from Starmer and co

justasking111 · 14/11/2025 12:25

Well they shouldn't have started doing deals with China so gleefully and rapidly. The USA was right to object. What China are doing to the Congo is proof of their mindset.

@NoWordForFluffy

But I did ask for clarification from Mumsnet, as my intention isn’t to spam or derail. I am interested in the thread and there are intelligent interesting discussions happening here.
When I first joined - my primary concern with a different government is my son’s EHCP, and I don’t think a different government will be the solution. Exclusion rates are at an all time high and I don’t think we should be segregating children off any more than we are.

This thread reflects the UK’s current political climate.

Thank you for backing me. The decisions that were made by the people in this country from 2016 until now affects our children. Of course I am going to come on here and share my opinion. I haven't gone anywhere.

Other political threads must be quiet…can’t think why. We will bully you into our way of thinking ‘twas always the mantra of the left!

Falseknock · 14/11/2025 13:08

You got your way and it didn't work it's getting worse. It will take a good 20 years or longer for changes and we go back to Europe. People don't like to admit they are wrong and that's what makes the UK look stupid and weak.

Yes, we get an avalanche of pissed off derailers when Labour makes yet another gaffe or misstep.
I suspect the run up and the aftermath of the budget is going to be the busy season.

Falseknock · 14/11/2025 13:11

Conservatives let the country down they couldn't get Brexit done.

So we didn’t leave the EU then?

SpaceRaccoon · 14/11/2025 13:14

I was going to post earlier about the Streeting interview but was having glitches. I thought he was excellent there, loved what he had to say about the BMA.

This is publice online forum if you want a private chat start a WhatsApp group with like minded people. Anyone can post you can't bully people off because they don't agree with you what's the point in having a public forum. Mumsnet might as well shut down there website.

Brexit didn't happen: Brexit ruined everything. Both at once- and yet neither. Schrodinger's Brexit

It's a timely point. Felt myself limbering up for a scrap there. How's everyone with Storm Claudia? Or, as my youngest has coined, Claudia with a chance of meatballs. We had rainmaggedon yesterday and seem to be dodging the worst of it today.

Falseknock · 14/11/2025 13:24

Labour has a mess to clean up after 14 years of Conservatives. You need to be patient.

Finally a storm that isn't hitting me. I'm sitting in a lovely sunbeam.

SpaceRaccoon · 14/11/2025 13:37

I saw that Reeves is scrapping the heat pump grant. The reason was hilarious - apparently it's because the uptake was predominatly the middle classes. How dare they benefit!

In reality, the grant money isn't enough for cover a new heat pump system, it pretty much just covers the kit before you factor in labour costs plus upgrading pipework and radiators, only those with some money and a commitment to green energy will be remotely interested.

Falseknock · 14/11/2025 13:38

My friend is coming over again this evening with some more photos of rotten teeth. I can't wait.
