Me too, my favourite footballer ever!! Loved him at Leeds and then me and my mum went to every match after he left when he played for the away side. I was out when the news broke about his death but had loads of messages when I checked my phone and it was how I found out as everyone knew how much I’d loved him!!

Prince
I haven't even begun to process it tbh. I was pregnant when it happened.

LadyGrillingSole · 13/11/2025 21:16

Bowie

Freddie Mercury

George Michael
David Bowie
Patrick Swayze
Terry Wogan
Caroline Aherne

I loved them all in different ways, and the world is that bit colder without them around.

notatinydancer · 13/11/2025 21:17

Victoria Wood ,I’d love to see what she’d be doing now.

whatsnewpussycat34 · 13/11/2025 21:17

Diana, Princess if Wales.

Not in a ‘missing her’ sort of way but the first sense of my own mortality and the fragility of life

My DH (police officer) had been at work during the night and was up to date with the details of the accident when he came in at 6.00.

I can remember asking ‘she won't die, will she?’

I was shocked that she did and felt very much that if she couldn't be saved, then none of us can be.

(irrational I know and very injury dependent - but she was a Princess with the best of everything, or so I thought).

Prince and Anthony Bourdain, both gone too soon, the world is a sadder place without their musical virtuosity and inventivness, and the pure joy of the worlds food culture and literary genius!

And he was on tv (football focus, with Alan Shearer) the day before.

Shocking. And his poor wife.

OSTMusTisNT · 13/11/2025 21:20

Princess Diana, we would probably have a very different feeling Royal Family with all her mischief making and tittle tattling to the press.

John Lennon

Steve Irwin

Freddie Mercury

madaboutpurple · 13/11/2025 21:20

There are so many and all are very sad indeed. I thought Terry Pratchett was wonderful as donated a million to memory loss charities. My DH still rates Terry as the best writer and reads his books time and time again. Sad that so many famous people had untimely deaths, way too early.

echt · 13/11/2025 21:20

Paul Ritter
Victoria Wood
George Michael
Andre Braugher
Alan Rickman
David Bowie
Jeremy Hardy - when Miles Jupp introduced the News Quiz after his death, his voice caught a bit. So moving.

And finally Christopher Fowler - novel and short story writer, with three quite remarkable memoirs.

LatteLady · 13/11/2025 21:21

I am afraid there is a list:

Humphrey Lyttleton
Linda Smith
Mary Travers of Peter, Paul & Mary
Sean Lock
David Crosby
Glenn Frey
Tom Petty

CRCGran · 13/11/2025 21:21

Michael Jackson ....

JFK junior and his wife Carolyn Kennedy. So sad! What a waste.

Oh gosh, I had such a massive crush on him on Pop Idol. He'd changed so much for the better & had matured so much since Pop Stars a couple of years before. I was gutted when I heard he'd died
