Heath Ledger. I still remember where I was - on a bus to Dalston going to a house party. Slightly undermined by my friend later mishearing me and thinking I'd said "Keith Chegwin".

Princess Diana.

George Michael.

Whitney Houston. Was and still am a massive fan of her music, especially her early stuff and I was in awe of her voice and beauty and it was such a shame she self destructed the way she did.

Avicii - the waste of that young man's life and talent.
He was pushed to keep going long after anyone with half a brain should have called a halt to things. So sad.

I want Simon and Garfunkel to live forever. Never want to hear of their deaths.

And this. I think when Paul Simon dies a tiny part of me will too. Dramatic...but his music was the soundtrack to my childhood and now to my kids' as well

John Lennon

Tom Lehrer (he was 97 but I would have liked to see him live forever!)

Among leaders, John Smith and Charlie Kennedy. And though they reached a great age, Queen Elizabeth and Jimmy Carter

There’s a song, Strange Days Are Here To Stay, on Green Day’s latest album with the lyric “ever since Bowie died it hasn’t been the same”.

Also a Doors Album 'Strange Days' I think Jim Morrison was part of the 27 club.

John thaw, Pete postlewaite and Robbie Coltrane, all non conventional but excellent actors.

Oh dear, it's got to page thirteen and nobody has agreed with me over Delores O'Riordan.

The Cranberries singer.

Zombie.
Linger.
Dreams.

Ah well.

Same here- huge fan!

Geordie Walker. I felt like I had been punched in the chest.

Matthew Perry- I’m a huge friends fan, was obsessed with chandler and met him in real life. His descent into addiction and failed attempts at rehab over and over were so sad to watch, over the years. I always thought he could turn it around, I was gutted when I found out.

Mine is in sad anticipation. I cannot face the day of hearing David Attenborough has died. I honestly think I'll need a day off work

Me too. And David Jason

Anjo2011 · 13/11/2025 22:43

I know he was a great age, but I wanted Bernard Cribbins to live forever.

Agree with Dolores O’Riordan and Sarah Harding, and Victoria Wood.

And one that I haven’t seen mentioned so far - Charlotte Coleman. Tragically young.

The death of Chadwick Boseman really upset me. He was so talented and died far too young.

Yes! And that he never told anyone he was dying and still carried on filming one of the biggest films in Marvel history 😥

ChocolateGreenTriangle · 13/11/2025 22:51

Matthew Perry. Fully sobbed for him.
