Me and 13 year old DD walk part of the way to her school together. This morning the wind was blowing the wrong way and messing her hair up! I suggested she walked backwards..

Yes @NotDarkGothicMama this thread should be retitled - My teenager said x should I LTB??

🤣

PenguinLove1 · 03/11/2025 20:39

My 18 year old has been foiled by child safety cap on cough medicine and has decided to do without rather than accept help to open it

NotDarkGothicMama · 03/11/2025 20:55

I asked DS to let the cat into his bedroom to patrol for a couple of minutes rather than let him miaow incessantly outside on the landing. He's "not sure if he can do that" because the cat doesn't reciprocate by letting him into the hidey hole on the cat tree or play on his cat wall Confused

Outraged at the house the people on Grand Designs were building. In particular the kitchen, colour of the cladding and the orientation on the site…not sure why, no interest in my TV choices usually!

drspouse · 03/11/2025 21:49

11 year old here, I was wrong about which was a "line" and which was a "part" on her flute book. Hey I've only been playing for 50 years and her for one.

CrazyCatMam · 03/11/2025 21:54

The photo on her provisional driving licence.

The drama it has caused is unparalleled.

03cg73 · 03/11/2025 21:56

one of mines life was over as her phone was on 10% and she brought the wrong charging cable into the car with her

not today, but the other week her sister accidentally put ultra dark fake tan on her face instead of her face tan…. Didn’t realise until she woke up in the morning. I don’t think I have ever laughed so hard before 8am in my entire life 😂😂😂

edwinbear · 03/11/2025 21:57

DD was late to netball. This was my fault because she couldn’t find her netball top. She’d had a medical appointment this afternoon which meant she was home at 2.30pm. We leave at 5.30pm. She’d had 3 hours to find her netball top. We then needed to stop for petrol and I didn’t put the petrol in the car fast enough 🙄. She’s come home acting like it’s all forgotten because she’d like me to buy her new netball shoes.

Moonflower12 · 03/11/2025 22:00

My 2 weeks-from-being a teen, was very cross with our driveway as she slipped and twisted her ankle. This was NOT due to her insisting on wearing ballet pumps which are slightly too big for her, no sirree. I was definitely the drive, that I quote ‘Is always trying to hurt me!’

Uberaddict · 03/11/2025 22:02

After a beautiful week lounging in a sunny location, we took our tween to a UNESCO world heritage site on the way to the airport. It was ‘the worst experience of her life’ and the fact that I asked her to reflect on her privilege was ‘not helping ‘🤣

If you buy her new netball shoes, are you going to make her change into crocs, sliders or cheap trainers the moment she’s off the court? (I’m a netball umpire and have seen a few teenage strops - although it’s actually the adult players who tend to be mouthy on court).

TokyoSushi · 03/11/2025 22:08

She got a behaviour point for not doing her French homework, apparently her brother has the same teacher and they don’t check if he has done his homework so the red point ‘wasn’t her fault’ 🫠

My DS was mortified to find out we’d run out of Orzo.

What's so embarrassing about being out of Orzo??

Nocameltoeleggingsplease · 03/11/2025 22:10

DS19 is at uni. DS19 needs a dentist appointment. Dentist is at home. I arranged the appointment for a time he said was convenient, and will take him to appointment etc. Time is now not convenient as he wants to go out. I said fine but he has to cancel it not me. He can’t do that.
I repeat. He’s 19.

Well she’s come home from school and is now wailing about the 15 year old kitchen floor - hates the colour and the fact we have ‘poverty Netflix’ as it can only be used by 2 screens. She appears to be livid about this while munching through a Pieminster pie.

She has such a hard life. I regularly just think ‘dick head’ when I hear the rubbish she and her friends spout.

(She hasn’t spotted the pie had a £2 yellow sticker on it, she would be appalled.
Small victory for me)

Poverty Netflix is brilliant 😂 I can imagine mine saying similar.

ThePure · 03/11/2025 22:17

Huge amount of huffing and puffing about filling in details on her UCAS form. Unbelievable that I do not know the exact answers to all the administrative questions. I suggested she Google as she appears well able to google random crap about dogs and her favourite bands but apparently this is an outrageous suggestion and far too much effort when ‘I thought you would just KNOW!’

Snakemum2 · 03/11/2025 22:19

These are brilliant! place marking because I have a 15yr old DD who is in surprising good spirits today but that can all change very swiftly 🤣

“Poverty Netflix” has made my day. 🤣🤣🤣.

His younger sister had eaten the last of the bran flakes for breakfast this morning. The last of the bran flakes are his favourite part of the bran flakes because they are more crushed. She should have known this and sacrificed the bran flakes for him. He had to have toast and was disgusted with this poor substitute of a breakfast.

I commented that he could have got up earlier to get to the cereal sooner, but no. This was not appreciated by DS.

oh and badminton was apparently terrible today in school. They had to learn how to play instead of just play. Incredibly unreasonable teaching 😆

Friendlyfart · 03/11/2025 22:37

YP here but still at uni:
’i planned my presentation in my head on the bus but now I’ve forgotten it … ‘

Tealbox · 03/11/2025 22:37

Because I asked her to go shower it then makes her feel like not showering, apparently.

sweetkitty · 03/11/2025 22:41

15yo DS put on someone else’s trousers after PE today and only realised once he was out of school and they felt baggy. This is not his fault but the fact that he has to share a changing room with the year below!

Yes that old chestnut. When being asked to do something like empty the dishwasher ( usually after multiple asks) them replying- well I was going to do it but now you’ve asked me I’m not going to!

Piknik · 03/11/2025 22:46

DS (18) is pretty furious with his iphone which is apparently suddenly taking 'bare long' to charge and is 'running out of storage' when he has only got about 8500 photos and 2000 videos on it along with four million games and apps.

The poor darling is having to watch YouTube on his ipad and Macbook as his phone is buffering which is 'peak' and "bare jarring' and, frankly how he can stand to only have an iphone 14 and actually try to function in society, is beyond me.

ChristmasLightsLover · 03/11/2025 22:48

DS2, age 17, was annoyed that the buses were running late. I think he was angling for a lift but we didn’t take the bait.
