What will Starmer do if Huntingdon...

Stabbing turns out to be terror related or in a similar vein to incident to recent incidents that were related to immigration ? We don't know the identities yet of the perpetrators. But the fact the Home Secretary is brought in to comment in tabloids and the discussion on LK on BBC today makes me worried its a possibility. The poor people on the train - I cannot even imagine .. ..Starmer needs to tackle knife crime as its rife. What is the answer ? When is there a tipping point ? I don't know but something must be done - I've never paid as much attention other than feeling so terribly sorry for any victims and families. Now I'm starting to get angry when I see anything like this

I imagine the same thing he has done with everything else so far, either ignore it, deflect or make it worse!

winterbluess · 02/11/2025 11:06

No, because we were all fed a load of crap about the southport attacker and shown photos of the suspect as a child. Turns out his dad was a bloody warlord in Rwanda and starmer helped him get into the UK

You know this is bollocks right?

Surely the actual crimes concern you.

They can concern without having to lower yourself to Reform type of group think 😁

localnotail · 02/11/2025 11:08

Eye witness accounts say one person with large knife stabbing everyone, despite two arrested.

Do you feel a bit stupid now? Stirring the pot, dividing people.

No not at all

two men arrested after randomly attacking strangers in public

how often has this happened I can’t actually remember a non terrorist attack like this but maybe you have list of them to name

Like I said before - one thing is saying crap like this, another is doing stuff.

The education incident happened during a debate at the University of Huddersfield during the 90’s, the perpetrator was part of a radical group and was ultimately removed from the University. Where did some of the 7/7 bombers live? Huddersfield! The white slag incident also occurred in West Yorkshire in the 90s, in a taxi driven by a man of Pakistani origin. But, of course, there was no problem with rape gangs in West Yorkshire in the 90’s was there? No taxi drivers were involved were there? People need to wake up and smell the coffee.

38thparallel · 02/11/2025 11:08

I don’t think I’ve seen a police officer on the street since the Tories cut the service to the bone.

I agree with you about lack of police presence, but if this was caused by the Tories cutting the service, then why doesn’t Labour reverse this?
They have repealed or will repeal other Tory policies such as rental laws and employment and workers rights.

Im not British..lol

ah

cottonwoolie · 02/11/2025 11:09

two nutters who decided to board a train together and start stabbing random people together. Sounds like terrorism…

It does but they could be off their face on drugs or just mindless violence. I don't think the police would cover up terrorism.

Because to change policies like that it requires money that no one wants and to pay for

attichoarder · 02/11/2025 11:09

I think we should like some other countries have greater security at train stations. I think ID cards should be inace so that people need to produce this when buying tickets. I have thought this for a long time and this incident makes me believe this even more.

How do you know they were random strangers and not known to the attackers?

Nutter who killed people in Nottingham? Another nutter who stabbed a lot of people in London few years back? Or the one who stabbed two sisters in a park in London? None terrorist related.

Dollymylove · 02/11/2025 11:10

So two British born blokes randomly decide to board a train and start slashing people with knives and its not a terror attack?
Sorry I don't buy it. Less than 24 hours is not enough time to delve into the reasons why this happened

Shudacudawuda · 02/11/2025 11:10

WeCouldBeNiceToEachOther · 02/11/2025 11:07

We don’t know who was on the train. Maybe they were after a single person. Maybe they were off their heads on drugs.

We'd have been told this if that was the case. The statement was incredibly vague, we are being lied to by omission.

Biscuitsneeded · 02/11/2025 11:10

If everyone on this thread who was so quick to apportion blame could just take a minute to go through the thread and replace the word 'Muslim' with 'Jew', and then reflect on what that reminds you of, I'd like to think that might give some of of you pause. Farage and his chums are manipulating you, and you are falling right into their hands. Don't let our once-tolerant country become like Nazi Germany, and have one race taking the blame for all of society's ills.
The knife attack is shocking, frightening and awful. We don't know yet who were the perpetrators or what was their agenda, but the latest report suggests they are British-born and not of Asian origin. So put your hate away, express your sorrow and compassion for the victims, and stop peddling lies.

TruckDiver · 02/11/2025 11:10

According to the police it was two black British men and not terror related. That's all we know. We don't know their religion or anything else about their motive. I suppose it could have been gang/drugs related, or a million other possibilities. The police are absolutely right not to release information until they are certain it's correct, particularly given the knife-edge sensitivities of much of society at the moment (hence the widespread jumping to conclusions, by bigots so confident in their bigotry that it will hardly even register with them, let alone make any difference, that they were wrong).

So how about everybody calm the fuck down and let the police do their job. That's what we pay them for.

jasflowers · 02/11/2025 11:10

WhiteCold · 02/11/2025 11:05

Problem is trust in police and politicians is so low at the moment the statement really needed to give more details and reassurance than that statement offered.

Yet if the Police had said Terror related and asylum seekers, you'd have swallowed every word as gospel.

Terrorism is when you do something to cause fear for a political cause. Not just doing it.

Apparently one one was with a knife.

WestwardHo1 · 02/11/2025 11:11

So I was right, it's a male violence issue. And as such, hands will be wrung, lessons will be learned, and absolutely nothing will change.

You don't see women rampaging round a train with knives.

However NAMALT so I guess it's not a problem

jasflowers · 02/11/2025 11:11

Yeah forget this when they say its not a MH issue.....
