You can have 1 type of pick n mix, what are you getting?
I’m starting with white chocolate mice (I love cheap chocolate!)

Shrimps & bananas please.

Or just the bananas 🍌

These are my favourites.👍
Those and liquorice torpedoes.

Treat us occasionally with a 3kg bag of either, ridiculously good value!👍

MonkeyPuddle · 01/11/2025 06:09

BigGirlBoxers · 01/11/2025 07:44

Chewy nuts please.

(I would ask for sweet cigarettes or liquorice tobacco but I think these are banned now)

(Edited to add 'please', as I realised how rude I had been.)

BreakfastOfChampignons · 01/11/2025 07:50

Are we talking pick n mix as in choosing your own with the little tongs from the tubs that all the kids have had their grubby little hands in? If so, pre-vegan my choice would have been those little haribo frogs.

If we're talking slightly more sophisticated jars sat on a shelf for an unspecified length of time, weighed out on scales by a shop keeper, probably those little chocolate toffeey chewy things. No idea what they're called!

Vegan sweet choice is a bit shit though so now probably barley sugars or something 🙄

Newsenmum · 01/11/2025 07:51

Only one? Ill have the white and pink ice creams please.

Elevenseconds · 01/11/2025 07:55

Cough candy twists in a paper bag please.

Edited

I know them as chocolate chewing nuts but not sure if that’s the real name

My nostalgia stretches far enough back to skip the pick'n' mix era and go straight to those jars-on-a-shelf. So much more exciting than pick 'n' mix. The anticipation of sweetness, all through the slow ceremony of Mr Duncan (in his brown shopkeeper jacket) moving the ladder, climbing it, lifting down the chosen jar, shaking 'a quarter' into the scale pan then tipping them into a brown paper bag. All finished off with the flourish of a rapid bag rotation, which closed the bag by creating two little spirals at its top edge. Happy days.

Annuler · 01/11/2025 08:18

I'm not very keen on pick n mix, but I'd quite like some shrimps and/or bananas please.

I was hoping you were going to get other stuff - in which case I will have a marathon please.

MrsMoastyToasty · 01/11/2025 09:30

Can you stretch to a bottle of pop too please?

queenofthebongo · 01/11/2025 09:44

Well I still sometimes buy cola bottles and sherbert lemons, so something I can’t get…like…
