CNN reporting that 'The Pentagon' (meaning Hegseth aka 'Kegsbreath' at SCROTUS' demand) is threatening to court martial Sen Mark Kelly over the PSA reminding military personnel that they don't have to obey illegal orders. Another act of revenge by SCROTUS.

Apparently a military retiree can be recalled to active duty and then court martialled. I had no idea!

"Senator Mark Kelly's military awards include two Defense Superior Service Medals, a Legion of Merit, two Distinguished Flying Crosses, and multiple Air Medals. He also received two Navy Commendation Medals, a Navy Achievement Medal, two Southwest Asia Service Medals, a Navy Expeditionary Medal, and a NASA Distinguished Service Medal. These decorations recognize his 25-year career as a U.S. Navy Captain, including 39 combat missions during the Gulf War, and his subsequent role as a NASA astronaut." (Wiki)

Go head on Kegsbreath, try and court martial this decorated combat veteran.

Other breaking news on CNN (I'm watching telly and this just broke).

The cases against Comey and Leticia James have been dismissed. Grounds are that the Judge who indicted is not legally in her position. She was a temp appointment who has 'overstayed her welcome'.

edited: I jumped the gun on the grounds. They haven't said whether it's that or the fact that the Grand Jury didn't see the full indictment.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 24/11/2025 17:47

They'll almost certainly try again with a different judge, won't they?

Not that I like Comey, even slightly, but hounding him at this point seems a tad unreasonable. Also pointless; just malice.

Was jeopardy attached ?

Also one of the DoJ submissions contradicts the other. So one of them is a lie put before a judge. That should be disbarment if not jail time.

Looks like you got it right

Kyle Griffin

A judge has dismissed the criminal case against James Comey without prejudice. Rules Lindsey Halligan has been invalidly appointed.

Judge Currie: "All actions flowing from Ms. Halligan's defective appointment, including securing and signing Mr. Comey's indictment, were unlawful exercises … and are hereby set aside."

"The Attorney General's attempts to ratify Ms. Halligan's actions were ineffective and are hereby set aside."

AcrossthePond55 · 24/11/2025 17:57

Another correction, Lindsey Halligan wasn't a judge, she was appointed as a temp DA.

Per CNN Live: It is that Halligan 'unlawfully appointed'. Judge has ruled that the indictments can be refiled by a different prosecutor.

Halligan was appointed as a temp prosecutor. Temp appointments only last 120 days, but she was allowed to remain in the position unlawfully.

I had a temp federal appointment as part of my career, although it was a 3 year appointment. It had to be and was renewed every three years.

I have this to say about the Comey and James indictments.

Yes, but he has to wait for his orders from Moscow, I think.

My husband and I were just having a conversation trying to figure out who on earth, other than the MAGA faithful, is going to think this is a remotely good idea? It seems highly unlikely to win anyone over to them.

Yes, the love affair appears to be back on. Ever since he invited Musk to the MBS fest

US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff advised Russia on how to pitch Ukraine plans to Trump, in audio files reviewed by Bloomberg

I've just seen this, from a few days ago. Unbelievable (but it's Trump, so believable).
New US rules say countries with diversity policies are infringing human rights https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cx24200d7y9o

Donald Trump speaks at a table. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio sits next to him.

US says countries with DEI policies as infringing human rights

US officials say the rules will stop "destructive ideologies" but others argue it is redefining human rights principles for Trump's goals.

InMySpareTime · 26/11/2025 06:40

@Jaichangecentfoisdenom that’s because he doesn’t think certain groups of people are human or deserving of rights. Perhaps DEI infringes on the perceived rights of white men, because to the habitually privileged, equality feels like disadvantage.

A third unvaccinated baby has died from whooping cough in Kentucky. I assume we will see the CDC and the Health Secretary publically advising people to get their children vaccinated.

The child died because it was given insert Tylenol or whatever

In other words, he knows eff all about what's going on.

Trump backs Witkoff after leak reveals he advised top Putin aide on Ukraine deal.

That’s a standard thing. He’s gotta sell this to Ukraine, he’s gotta sell Ukraine to Russia. That’s what a dealmaker does […] I haven’t heard it, but I heard it was standard negotiation. And I would imagine he’s saying the same thing to Ukraine, because each party has to give and take,” Trump told reporters on board Air Force One.

Also read that Mitch McConnell (isn't he dead yet?) has waded in to criticise the proposed peace deal and has incurred the wrath of Li'l JD.
