Analysis of the language used in Trump’s Ukraine “peace plan” shows it was drafted in Russian and translated into English.

Somehow this leaves me completely unsurprised.

It’s extremely insulting - he was reducing a woman to an animal - dehumanising her. Actually, it reminded me of a Lord of the Flies moment. It looked like it would have felt threatening to be on the receiving end of this. Imagine Trump looming over you in that confined space - a plane - you can’t even leave. A big man and arguably the most powerful man in the world. I wasn’t surprised when no one present called him out for doing it.

This is the sort of behaviour I associate with a malignant abusive male misogynist. And if it’s business as usual, it will soon be forgotten by most people, sadly.

On the one hand MTG is a nut so her resignation is not a bad thing, but on the other hand who knows what will replace her.

My own thoughts on Trump and Mamdani is that Trump is a classic bully - he’s too chicken shit to say anything to Mamdani’s face. He’ll obviously say whatever he wants to a woman, but face to face with a man he’s a coward. See also what happened with Gavin Newsom.

Somewhat surprised about MTG.

Mamdani isn't sworn in as mayor until January 1st so he's probably 'safe' from the 🍊🐖 until he starts to implement his policies for NYC.

One attribute I would not associate with MTG is cowardice.

One attribute I would associate with MTG is knowing what is going on inside Georgia.

Putting those two terms on the left, on the right (see what I did there ?) I could see a period of letting MAGA go a bit frothy (imagine taking a laxative to expel the turds) and being left untainted to carry on as before.

Purely my own speculation on MTG is that she foresees a coming maga meltdown and wants out of the fray while they eat themselves, waiting to step back in when the direction of the wind is clearer. Sarah Longwell has long said she's going to align with Tucker Carlson to usher in an even crazier era.

Hey - I'm just some random on the internet. Wrong as much as right.

However It's hard not to feel something has shifted in the MAGA mixing bowl. Which looking at the one thing no one can ever affect - time - does start to make sense.

We know MAGA is driven by morons. And used by movers to further their own ends. That means you have a beautifully asymmetric alignment of focus. The morons only seeing their noses, and the movers looking a bit further - over the heads of the faithful, as it were.

We've now reached the part where it's starting to become clear to the MAGA that it's not all a laugh. And the movers - looking ahead - may have started leaving the train before the crash.

Keen eyed observers might suggest that is comparable to the way Farage jumped off the Brexit train before it crashed. Take the Tory party to it's doom.

I can't see anyone inspiring the kind of blind devotion that trump did. As much as I abhor and despise him (and would be happy to see him shot in the face at point blank range) I can't help but admire his ability to grift in plain sight and get away with it.

I agree in part, but I also think we underestimate the reach and power of Tucker Carlson at great peril. He has the same rabid fanbase type dynamic as Trump did from the apprentice. He's definitely laying the groundwork and not only is he very willing to align with the worst of MTG's beliefs, he's sensible enough to wait while this crop does he work of making free and fair elections less and less likely.

I think the people that thought they would be along for the ride on the Grifter Express are starting to realise that it left the station a while ago and they aren't on it. Which is a shame as they loaded all his dirty luggage and helped his grifter friends into first class for the ride.

Breaking news that Europe isn't having Trump's peace plan for Ukraine, so just putting this here.

I think MTG was threatened with being 'primaried' and I'm assuming there is a viable MAGA loyalist candidate. After all, her district is rural Georgia so I assume heavily MAGA. SCROTUS took a large majority of the votes in 2016 71%, 2020 68%, 2024 68% vs the Dem candidates. She knew she couldn't win if the GOP primaries her at SCROTUS' behest. I can't remember where I read it, but somewhere she stated that IF she were to seek office again she'd run as an Independent.

I think what she sees (please, God!) is a Blue Wave at the midterms. Some pundits are saying that SCROTUS is already becoming a lame duck due to the economy and the Epstein scandal. Is that a signal of a MAGA meltdown? Maybe not a meltdown, but perhaps a 'shift' in which they are no longer afraid of raising his ire. I think they see that his 'power' is going to be finished after either the midterms or once he's out of office. And that if they want to retain their offices or be able to run again later they need to start cleaning the shit off their shoes.

There will be a special election to replace her some time after the 1st of the year. Unless the Dems conduct a planned 'migration' to the 14th, it'll be a Trump loyalist.
