Inspired by another thread. As per the title - what are your favourite items? Mine are:

Home Bargains:
Sausage rolls from the bakery section.
Rubicon (much cheaper than supermarket)
Bird food - seed and mealworms
Toothpaste
Wickford Candles

B&M:
Coffee sachets
Noodles for DD
Washing pods
Dishwasher tablets
Emulsion (rare but like Johnstones from there)
Any decorating supplies like paint brushes

I realise this is a sad thread. It’s better than what’s on our TV tonight though.

YABU - traitors is on soon

I don’t do B and M as often as Home Bargains (been today actually). I always get their dish cloths that are on a roll. Love them. I get paracetamol and Milka chocolate (if they have it). I also buy the canned Navigator cocktails. I’m a cheap date tbh.

QueSeraSeraaaaa · 29/10/2025 18:48

Haha, I can’t get on board with programmes that everyone talks about. It’s the stubbornness in me.

@CatsForLife your canned cocktails sound as good as my bag of sausage rolls 😆 There’s some for everyone in Home Bargains.

Home Bargains - I like their pack of three massage sponges (blue, pink and yellow), tinted moisturiser (I think it’s called Pure), Elbow Grease and Pink Stuff cleaning items.

B & M - washable microfibre round make up removal pads, small tins of sweetcorn in a three pack, roll of patterned cushioned drawer liners for kitchen drawers, clear kitchen storage containers, plastic storage tubs, storage baskets. In the summer, they do nice plastic wine glasses that look like they’re crystal. Some of their furniture is surprisingly good for the price, like small shelving units, easy to assemble and sturdy.

Chocolate pastry twists from home bargains bakery are the best, I've never tried the sausage rolls but I will next time!

placemats · 29/10/2025 19:56

B&M bathroom accessories. Home Bargains the plants.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 29/10/2025 19:59

Either shop : laundry detergent, softener, antibac wipes

B&M : Aussie Cadbury/Milka/the hot chocolate boxes at Christmas

HB : Flapjacks/Slim Fast/Roast Chicken Walkers

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 29/10/2025 20:00

Ive never been to a HB with a proper bakery, missing out!

Crikeyalmighty · 29/10/2025 20:04

I have neither of these within 10 miles as far as I’m aware- just about to check

QueSeraSeraaaaa · 29/10/2025 20:04

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit bakery items, bagged up. Not sure where they come from if I’m honest…

It’s interesting to see what others like. I’m definitely branching out to the chocolate twists next time. I’m also interested to try the tinted moisturiser.

Home Bargains have bakeries !??????

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 29/10/2025 20:07

HB had little packs of 2 random Elemis stuff, so selection of facial oil, shower gel, cleanser, day and night cream, for 75p. They were also doing big tins of Millicano instant coffee for about 6 quid, but sadly that's been replaced by Azera which is grim.

Crikeyalmighty · 29/10/2025 20:08

Ah it would appear I have 2 of each both 9 mikes away in different directions- so a trip to Trowbridge it looks like

Coffeeishot · 29/10/2025 20:08

I usually get dog biscuits and toys from B&M. Home bargains im there with the "great unwashed" as that poster said i get deodorant shower gel, shampoo
dishwasher tablets Washing pods, and usually crisps and random crap I definitely don't need 😀

Glow body butter £2.99 from HB, smells divine and absorbs really well.

Elbow grease
Nicky toilet roll in packs of 32 (could be 36, can’t remember)

Catsknowbest · 29/10/2025 20:12

HB: Zoflora candles! Lol

triplechoc · 29/10/2025 20:12

Buffalo brand bin bags, nice and sturdy.
Bacofoil foil and cling film refills for the dispensers.
Toothpaste and mouthwash, consistently cheaper.
Scrub Daddy sponges.
At Xmas, boxes of sweets eg Liquorice Allsorts, Winegums, for my dad and for DH.

Daisymay2 · 29/10/2025 20:16

Bird Peanuts from Home Bargains. I also got my Christmas Elf outfit for the Christmas Fayre from there!
B&M Fat ball in boxes of 150, light bulbs, plants, covers for out door furniture, tea bags.

Coffeeishot · 29/10/2025 20:17

Oh yes we do HB for Christmas sweets and chocolate my parents like Bournville and they do selection boxes. .dh likes jelly sweets so I always buy them there.

MostlyGhostly · 29/10/2025 20:17

The Homepride pasta sauces in the old style jar- DCs go though tons of the creamy tomato one with tuna and pasta and it’s half the price of the new style jars in supermarkets. They both stock it. Cat and dog treats from both too and I recently got a piritese nose spray from BM that cured my stupid winter allergies

Redshoeblueshoe · 29/10/2025 20:35

Home Bargains - TUC bacon crackers, and Tunnocks caramel logs.

twilightcafe · 29/10/2025 20:36

Home Bargs: soap powder
Elbow Grease spray (cheaper than Fairy Stop The Soak)
Cat food pate
Toothpaste
Mine does sachets of Decleor travel goodies, £1 for 3
Shower gel

B&M - Cup Noodles - £1 each. DS takes them to school for lunch.

TheeNotoriousPIG · 29/10/2025 20:43

B&M sells big bars of plain Cadbury chocolate for £4.50. That is miles cheaper than the two nearest supermarkets (usually around £6). Sometimes I buy Milka chocolate or random biscuits that you don't find in the supermarkets (TimTams might be next on the list, as I've never tried them before). It's quite handy for lightbulbs, too! My dogs are also big fans of the long chewy chicken sticks, and the rubber toy balls that squeak.

We don't have a Home Bargains around here, but if I remember rightly, I quite liked some Easy laundry powder that I bought from there. It's also quite useful for some toiletries.
