Favourite items from Home Bargains and B&M

Inspired by another thread. As per the title - what are your favourite items? Mine are:

Home Bargains:
Sausage rolls from the bakery section.
Rubicon (much cheaper than supermarket)
Bird food - seed and mealworms
Toothpaste
Wickford Candles

B&M:
Coffee sachets
Noodles for DD
Washing pods
Dishwasher tablets
Emulsion (rare but like Johnstones from there)
Any decorating supplies like paint brushes

I realise this is a sad thread. It’s better than what’s on our TV tonight though.

B&M which is Home Savers here, I love their star door mats and I get so worried they might stop selling them. Think I need to bulk buy.

Like their mirrors as well.

The Trowbridge Home Bargains is a bit of a let down. If you're Wiltshire way the big Swindon one is worth the trip, it has a bakery and a café and it is massive 😊

Has anyone tried the cafe in HB? I like that it’s good value in comparison to other chain coffee shops, but the food wasn’t great in my opinion. It’s ok for a coffee stop though.

I like seeing other people’s specific purchases. There are a few I’m interested to try.

Home Bargains -

Bird food (can't find it cheaper elsewhere, especially meal worms)
Aqueous cream - £1 in Home Bargains and over a fiver elsewhere.

Bird food is a definite winner in Home Bargains. It’d cost us a fortune to feed the birds (starlings and pigeons!) otherwise 😄

Home Bargains have the best dog poo bags 💩 🐾

I literally just put on fresh sheets washed in Asevi Marseille soap scented laundry detergent from B&M.

I wasn’t expecting great things because it was so cheap, but the whole room smells amazing now, so I guess that’s my favourite thing from there.

Like others, I get my bird food from Home Bargains, and it’s great for cheap dog toys (because they don’t last long with my dog, so they have to be cheap).

HB - the £1.49 hypochlorous acid spray, Zoflora/ some of the Astonish disinfectants.

I got some cheapo Rosemary-scented shampoo and conditioner from Home Bargains, expecting nothing... They're fab! Come in a brown bottle with a squirty nozzle.

I have only been in Home Bargains a couple of times as it is not very close to me, but bought some solar garden lights which are still going strong after two years. B&M is very close so I pop there from time to time. Love all their organising boxes/baskets, it is also my go to for car washing accessories and big bags of cat treats. They used to have big bottles of the shower gel I use, but not any more. Once I went in for a shower gel and came out with a garden egg chair. 😀It is great quality but cost a lot less than other brands.

Home bargains - the wholemeal Shelton/sheldon bread buns. 4 for 89p-ish. Huge and a healthy extra b on slimming world. Lovely and soft and blooming huge.

2 for £2 seriously spreadable low fat. Or any but Im on slimming world so only get 1 type!

Bargain madness - does beef for £1.50 may have gone up. Its described as off cuts but if you are selective, you can get some lovely beef. Be selective, but the meat is really good value. Ive fed 3 of us a slimmed down sunday dinner using all the beef. Its very good for stir frys. Bargain! Be careful some is heavy on the pepper, that is not always stated. I love pepper so isnt an issue for me.

Mouthwash, Special K, Jordan's crunchy cereal, Colliers cheese, cold coffee drinks, Comfy soft toilet rolls, Bachelor's condensed soup and their gammon offcuts are fantastic value.

B+M sell Lego and (sometimes) Pokémon cards so I go there for them.
Home Bargains do a fantastic range of branded shower gels/bubble baths in different fragrances that I don't find anywhere else.

Just what I need after a stressful day.

The thick winged Always period pads. We need them in my house as we all have heavy periods so I bulk buy about 30 packs of night and day time ones. It’s not even the price ( even though they are cheaper than most) , it’s just the practicality for them !

not sure I’ve been in a Home Bargains.
B&M for plants, and mealworms for the birds. Sometimes random other bits - last time I got a couple of large mugs of the size and shape I like for £2 each.
And big bottles of Radox bath soak (as bubble bath is now called)

Elemis?! Is that recently?

Over the summer @BastardtheCatso not so recently.
One to avoid in HB is the dupe of body shop camomile cleansing balm. Really waxy and doesn't melt.

B and M is good for stationary for kids school pencil cases.
Also bought a big Astonishing hand wash that was good, moisturising, cheap and lasted for ages.

I will say though that I think much of their washing detergent is no cheaper than what you can buy on offer at the supermarkets despite them ticketing it as amazing prices. Also I bought some thick bleach from there and it was thin and rubbish.

Will be heading there for some chocolate Christmas stocking fillers on the basis of this thread.

@SillyGo0se I’m in Bath, so it’s Trowbridge or Brislington closest and I really need anti depressants before going to Brislington - Swindon though is doable if I mix it in with Swindon outlet centre ( which I do like)

B&M sell these chocolate covered waffles in packs of five. They are heaven.

@Coffeeishot that is my one worry , I would end up with loads of stuff I really don’t need ,
