Hi I am being hassled by a buyer over a £3 top I sold her. She wants a refund as it's too small. She's sent me a photo of the sleeves up her arm. The top is a 3/4 sleeve top and it says that in the description. Which I showed her and she said it doesn't fit anyway. She has asked Vinted to step in too. I have sent photos and of the description to Vinted. Now waiting for them to get back to me. I told the buyer to just resell it as it would cost her as much as the top to return. But she's insisting she doesn't want it as it doesn't fit and it would have to go in the bin otherwise. This is stressing me out!

Yes I can reply to her negative feedback & also leave her feedback. I haven't done either at the moment.

Now she's just sent me another saying .... like i had to stretch it out before to make it long. Talking about her first photo!

Lol. She does not have much brain cells. It’s striped! When you stretch a stripe the stripes stay the same number. Maths mathing.

Firstly, apologies, I haven't read the full thread, so this may have been mentioned already.
Glad you have got it sorted, but I wanted to advise anyone reading to beware of accepting returns on vinted.
I had someone hassling me about an item they had bought. As soon as they received it they messaged me saying it was damaged - so could they have money off. However, they had no proof, so I said no. They then offered to return the item, which I accepted.
When I collected the parcel, I instantly knew they'd not returned it. The item I sold was far heavier. The item they put in the box was worth 50p. The item they had bought was worth £25.
But as soon as they returned it, there is no button on vinted to say the return is not correct.
The lady in question was very abusive on messages, and also in her review of me - calling ME a scammer. Anyway, she couldn't show proof of damage or return, so vinted made her pay anyway.
But my take away was not to accept returns.
I'm pretty sure this vinted user had done this before, and someone contacted me the day after I'd left her a review saying she was doing the same to them, and yet she has many 5 star reviews. I really don't know how that works.
Anyway, I hope it helps someone.

Yes there was a frill edge to the sleeves and hem. The top was in excellent condition. Looking at the marks on it in her first photo I wouldn't even want it back. The 2nd photo she sent of the sleeves being shorter again, she has deleted. But I took a copy before she did that. Plus as another poster said above the body seems to fit her in that photo.

I'm glad you kept the picture where she is hiding the sleeve. Did she really think that 15 stripes would automatically go down to that few without you noticing?

She is trying it on for sure.

She's bunched it up at the side to make it look that short on her arms you can see the material gathered up at the side of her. She's clearly desperate for that £3 ain't she lol

HatStickBoots · 13/10/2025 07:56

Just Wow… I really feel for you OP. I can’t wait to see your feedback on this thief.

KatieA12B3C · 13/10/2025 08:55

@HatStickBoots

I posted her feedback she left me, yesterday. She said ..........

don't like leaving bad reviews but i'd like to say she refused to let me return a 3 pound top since 3 pounds are a lot of money for her clearly. the top doesn't even fit me and now will be thrown away as it's sad as i don't have space for clothes. beware,she doesn't allow people to return even if the item doesn't fit.

@MissRaspberry

Yet she made out that I was the desperate one. I didn't give in to her on principle not the £3.
Look on her 'about' that I left yesterday. She doesn't accept returns!

Thank you. I have sold quite a lot of stuff too and I agree most buyers are lovely. But it's just the hassle she is giving me. Which I've never had before.

And when the case is closed you can give you a bad review to warn others

You can tell from her background decor and mess and cuddly toy she’s a nutter

Agreed!!!!

I’m sorry, I used the wrong words… I meant that I can’t wait to see what you write on her page, your review of her as a buyer.

KatieA12B3C · 13/10/2025 11:01

@Nanna2B

How awful the stress it must have caused you. I can't believe the audacity of some people!!! Obviously she was a chancer. I'm glad you received your money though!

When I stopped replying to her as I had had enough, I had .......... it's genuinely really rude how you can ignore someone and be petty over a 3 pound top. like i don't want it im not even trynna make a fuss but i know i won't wear it that's the thing so it's easier for you to give it to someone who will.

i don't understand why you're making a problem out of this..you can sell it for more i don't need this at all and i can tell your account is doing great in that but it's useless and i'll have to throw it away so it's a waste

OP posts:
KatieA12B3C · 13/10/2025 11:05

Me ... Why would you throw it away. You sell yourself. So sell it on your account. If there was something wrong with it, which there is not and was not when I sent it. That's a different matter.

Her .... i don't want it?like i said i've got too many clothes and i want to keep the ones that i do wear and this is not one of them it doesn't fit me,

Her ... you can sell it again i don't understand it's profit for you not me?

Me .... You brought Vinted into it. (Because she accused me of bringing Vinted into it) Why on earth would you pay £3 to return a £3 top?

Her .... because i can? ...... i paid 6 pounds in total so when i return i get my full money back. and you get the item back. in case you wasnt aware

I saw yeah. She sounds like a right div to be honest I'd tell her to swivel

Biggles27 · 13/10/2025 22:05

I’d tell her she can return it - at her cost! Some buyers are just idiots

The truth of what happened. Plus point out you notice she doesn’t accept returns herself so you’re a bit bemused why she would make such a song and dance about wanting you to take an item back which she could just sell herself.

Silverbirchleaf · 14/10/2025 10:51

Does she think you have to refund her the purchase cost and the postage cost? Isn’t it only the purchase cost?

Why buy clothes on Vinted if you have too many already?

KatieA12B3C · 14/10/2025 18:17

@Silverbirchleaf

Why buy clothes on Vinted if you have too many already? Exactly my sentiment!

I would have thought you would only have to pay both the postage and purchase cost if the item was faulty. 🤔
