Hi I am being hassled by a buyer over a £3 top I sold her. She wants a refund as it's too small. She's sent me a photo of the sleeves up her arm. The top is a 3/4 sleeve top and it says that in the description. Which I showed her and she said it doesn't fit anyway. She has asked Vinted to step in too. I have sent photos and of the description to Vinted. Now waiting for them to get back to me. I told the buyer to just resell it as it would cost her as much as the top to return. But she's insisting she doesn't want it as it doesn't fit and it would have to go in the bin otherwise. This is stressing me out!

Well, she’s made herself look like a tit hasn’t she!

are you going to reply?

Teacup40 · 12/10/2025 17:39

Only on vinted lol. you can respond to feedback if you want to but even if you don't most normal people know that when you order from vinted if something doesn't fit you can't return it you just re sell its the chance you take.

Zempy · 12/10/2025 17:39

Once you reply, that’s the end of it, she can’t come back again.

KatieA12B3C · 12/10/2025 17:53

I've not replied yet!

I had a 1 star review yesterday too ( my second 😔 ) … buyer claimed that I’d stuck the mailing bag sticky bit to the skirt and it had ripped off the faux leather , a tall order at best , I mean how do you stick it to anything but the outside of the bag , but she’d let it auto complete … so I’d had my money , also £3 ironically , so I said as much to her , what did she want me to do and she immediately left a review saying I was unapologetic and unhelpful 🤷🏻‍♀️ . Can’t win them all OP !

KatieA12B3C · 12/10/2025 18:53

@bugalugs45

Love the name, my mother used to call me that!!! 😂

Sorry to hear you had a one star review too Sad

I mean how do you stick it to anything but the outside of the bag. Exactly how!!! The only thing mine has stuck to when sealing the bag, is my carpet!

Oh I don’t know, I’ve managed to stick the mailing bag to my hair before, but then I have a gift for such things!

But I'm glad to see you had your money.

I’ve had the opposite - a series of batshit messages about a piece of jewellery being broken (it wasn’t), complete with a Daily Mail sad face photo of her holding a receipt (very fake) for how much it had apparently cost to fix.

The a five star glowing review.

People are weird!

Russiandollsaresofullofthemselves · 12/10/2025 21:11

life is to short to spend that amount of effort on £3. let it go.

Welshmonster · 12/10/2025 21:12

It’s vinted not amazon prime!! caveat Emptor should apply which is ancient law. Buyer beware!

I bet she does this to loads of people. Wears it and gets a refund and you can’t prove the damage done.

can you leave a review to warn other sellers

Netcurtainnelly · 12/10/2025 21:12

PortSalutSherryHello · 11/10/2025 01:03

It says in the Ts and Cs that not fitting isn't a reason for a refund unless the size was wrongly advertised so they should side with you..Vinted is becoming more hassle than it's worth

You need to be careful with Sports Direct. Their sizes are not correct . A large is not a large, always get measurements.
I don't know if any other places the same.
If I was her I might give it to a charity shop and chalk it down to an unfortunate experience, and not buy tops again.
It's abit of agamble buying clothes you don't try on.

Northernladdette · 12/10/2025 21:19

Vinted rules say if it doesn’t fit it’s tough luck. Tell her to sell it on.
That, or ask her to return it. It’ll cost her more to return it than she paid for it 🤔

Northernladdette · 12/10/2025 21:26

Just seen all sorted. I think you have a right to reply with poor feedback 😊

Melonjuice · 12/10/2025 21:33

I am on your side here, however unrelated, I am fed up of sellers advertising clothes which are smaller than the size on label
after this because the clothes have been clearly shrunk in the tumble dryer or just bad washing or they are Vinted and different size back then I bought a pair of size 14 jeans when they arrived they looked like something a 12 year-old would wear however she insisted I was in the wrong because the label said size 14 -often sellers don’t use their common sense

Sailawaygirl · 12/10/2025 21:35

Glad you got it sorted. Make sure you 1* her back!
I had a dispute as a seller over a £2 terracotta / burnt orange dress I sold at start of year. The buyer wanted a refund cause it was orange and she wanted a red dress!!
Vinted found in my favour but she then begged me not to give her a 1* review after calling me all sorts of names during the dispute. I am for £2 if its not what you wanted just take it to a chair shop!

Shessweetbutapsycho · 12/10/2025 21:42

Just approve the return at buyers cost 🤷‍♀️

PeonyPatch · 12/10/2025 21:45

What a loser hassling you over a £3 top. You could refund her, but she’ll have to pay the postage, so it’s actually hardly worth it from her end.

Vinted is full of unhinged individuals….

cityanalyst678 · 12/10/2025 21:55

Nothing I have bought on Vinted this week fits. Some of them were not described that accurately. However, I don’t want to cause any harm or fuss, so have put them in the charity bag…

comoatoupeira · 12/10/2025 22:01

You can tell from her background decor and mess and cuddly toy she’s a nutter

Moonlightfrog · 12/10/2025 22:12

Just ignore anymore messages. Vinted will sort it and it probably go in your favour. If it doesn’t they will just refund her (which is a pain but it’s only £3).

BendoftheBeginning · 12/10/2025 22:12

Zempy · 11/10/2025 10:37

If I get a nutter like this, thankfully rare, I just agree the return and refund but AT THEIR EXPENSE.

If you do this, you look perfectly reasonable and she can’t leave you a bad review. Sure, you have to sell it again, but I wouldn’t give her the satisfaction.

She can’t leave return it, paying postage, or keep it. Only options.

Ha, I once cut my losses with a loon like this and she responded by CUTTING UP MY ITEM and posting it back to me.

Some people have personality disorders and they are buying on Vinted like normal people. I would like to see Vinted allowing sellers to screen insane people out of bidding on innocent sellers’ posts, but so far all the opportunity to avoid obvious chancers is for buyers alone.

BrickBiscuit · 12/10/2025 22:15

Friend sold something on fleaBay. Buyer said it arrived completely smashed and they wanted a full refund. Friend said send a photo. Buyer replied 'Oh never mind, I think I can fix it after all.'

Notthatgameagain · 12/10/2025 22:15

Shes off her head. She must have a lot of bad reviews. Even her message confirm she is a nutter. She actually thinks that's an ok reason to return the top.i bought a top once on vinted and it stunk of smoke. I have her a bad review, and commented so other people could be warned and she retaliated 🤣. I have so many 5 star reviews it wasn't even noticeable !

MissRaspberry · 12/10/2025 22:19

You sold her a size 8 top and to be fair looking at the pics she's sent you I'd take a guess that she's possibly a bit bigger than size 8 so that would explain why it doesn't fit her.
