I do have blackcurrant for hot blackcurrant and cocoa powder if someone wants hot chocolate, but that's in my baking box.

When I was about 8, I tagged along to work with my mum who was a district nurse.

One of her elderly ladies asked me if I wanted a Ribena. She brought it out of the kitchen and it was hot.

I was horrified. My mum kept hissing at me to drink it and not be rude. I tipped it out the window when no one was looking.

isitmyturn · 02/10/2025 16:16

Not much of the savoury variety mentioned?
I'm currently nursing a cold and yearning for something hot and salty like bovril, miso or even just marigold stock.

I said miso!
And I didn't think of Marigold stock, but I have that too, although no one as yet has requested it as a drink.

Sod all, really. A box of Rooibos that came in a mini hamper thing somebody gave us, and some emergency teabags from the corner shop. I used to keep a jar of instant coffee, but people have higher expectations these days, and if callers are staying long enough to require a hot caffeine infusion, I can take them to a coffee shop.
Hot orange squash, anyone?

newrubylane · 02/10/2025 16:38

Tea - PG Tips, Lady Grey, Lemon and Ginger or a fruit one that doesn't say what's actually in it (came in a hamper).
Coffee - from cafetiere made in regular or decaf, coffee bags, decaf instant
