The result of the gov't of Trinidad and Tobago "being in cahoots with the CIA to wage war against Venezuela" (Venezuelan VP) is a break with the rest of CARICOM, which is supposed to promote economic integration and coordinate foreign policy for its member states.

It was actually a clever move to bring Trinidad closer in as Venezuela had been circumventing US sanctions by piping gas directly T&T, from where it was sold on. It was inevitable that Venezuela would terminate the gas agreement, so in the end, the US has succeeded in denying funds to the V. gov't.

If I knew what she meant by "averted" (to me it is akin to "warded off" or "kept from happening", as in "WWIII was averted at the last moment when Trump suffered a fatal aneurysm") I'd find that easier to understand.

Funny usage. To me that would mean that someone didn't want her to land and managed to avert it, you see. In the way that if someone said "Trump might win the election", someone else might reply "Avert!" to ward off the horrible possibility.

I rather think she actually meant "aborted", but that is a word that has been completely hijacked now and is only used for terminating a pregnancy.

Listened to TRIP US this morning, they mentioned the donation of $130 million donation to “pay the troops” by Timothy Mellon.

Aside from the fact that the donation is a mere drop in the ocean for that particular bill (1.3 million troops means they’ll get a whole $100 each), they pointed out that Timothy’s billionaire father Paul appeared in an Epstein flight log in the recent release of documents. Paul Mellon died in 1999 but was listed as taking a flight on Epstein’s private jet in 1998 at the age of 90.

The BNY Mellon bank has been accused of providing finance to Epstein and facilitating his lifestyle.
