Taking paracetamol doesn’t give you autistic babies but voting for Trump definitely gives you a festering carcass of American rot shoved into an ill-fitting suit: the sleaze of a conman, the cowardice of a draft dodger, the gluttony of a parasite, the racism of a Klansman, the sexism of a back-alley creep, the ignorance of a bar-stool drunk, and the greed of a hedge-fund ghoul— all spray-painted orange and paraded like a prize hog at a county fair.

The Donald now pretending to get tough with Vladimir and imposing sanctions (Probably last for about 12 hours)

Trump says he canceled meeting with Putin because 'we have good conversations but then they don’t go anywhere'
After imposing new sanctions on Russian oil firms he called “tremendous” Donald Trump told reporters on Wednesday that he had canceled a planned meeting with Vladimir Putin, the Russian president in Budapest.
“We cancelled the meeting with President Putin. It just, it didn’t feel right to me. It didn’t feel like we were going to get to the place we have to get. So I cancelled it. But we’ll do it in the future,” Trumps said, while sitting with Mark Rutte, the NATO secretary general, in the Oval Office.
“I think that, in terms of honesty, the only thing that I can say is, every time I talk to Vladimir, I have good conversations and then they don’t go anywhere, they just don’t go anywhere.”
“These are tremendous sanctions,” Trump also said,. These are very big against their two big oil companies — and we hope that they won’t be on for long. We hope that the war will be settled.” (Guardian)

Lies about not touching the WH east wing and then lies even biglier.

White House Changes Course and Will Demolish Entire East Wing.
The White House is demolishing the entirety of the East Wing to make way for President Trump’s $200 million ballroom, a construction project that is far more extensive than he initially let on, a senior administration official said on Wednesday.
The tear-down should be finished by this weekend, according to the official, who was not authorized to speak publicly about the plans.
When Mr. Trump first announced his plans for the ballroom, he pledged that the East Wing wouldn’t be touched by the construction.
“It’ll be views of the Washington Monument. It won’t interfere with the current building. It’ll be near it but not touching it,” the president said. “And pays total respect to the existing building, which I’m the biggest fan of.”
But, upon further evaluation, the White House determined it was cheaper and more structurally sound to demolish the East Wing to construct the ballroom, rather than build an addition, the official said.
The new structure will also have enhanced security features, the official said. (NYT)

Tsk, tsk! Bigly caught out in a lie? Astonishing!
It was obviously intended to be built this way.

TheExcitersblowingupmymind · 23/10/2025 05:20

I see he's saying it's being funded by him and some friends of his and the military will be involved in his ballroom construction.
Be interesting to know what friends are chipping in and why would the military be involved?

He’s hoping the DoJ will chip in with his comp of $230 million!
I have no idea what it’s to do with the military- is it also some kind of bunker?!

DontMowMyMeadow · 23/10/2025 07:24

Apparently there are currently bunkers under the remains of the East Wing.
He wants to build bigger bunkers, hence the military involvement. The biggest bunkers in the world. Beautiful beautiful bunkers. The world has never seen anything like these bunkers blah blah blah blah.

Serpentstooth · 23/10/2025 07:26

I bet it can be redesigned to be his mausoleum when the time comes.
My name is Ozymandias
King of Kings
Look on my works ye mighty and despair
Even better than Mount Rushmore. Bigly forever

Edited

It is - and will be seen as such- a metaphor.

Trump in his Nero phase.

I did not have literally ripping down part of the White House on my bingo card.

And his supporters still seemingly silent

Confess I'm a little disappointed at Bigly's lack of imagination. Why only a ball room? Why not a bigly, glorious, many-storied - the bigliest - Trump Tower? Who needs a boring old White House? It's a bit understated to say the least. Frankly, it's Old Fashioned. A 40 storey (more?) Tower with Emperor Trump, President for Life emblazoned down the side and a Presidential Walk, decorated with golden Bigly statues en route to the new Arc de Trump erected at the other end. Tributes can be left there. Crappo coin accepted, gold for preference.

From the brief glimpses of Fox News I've accidentally seen, they're cheering on finally having a president who doesn't ask permission to use his power to get things done

Of course.

This is a boring and obvious statement by now, but if Obama had done anything close to this, they would have been foaming at the mouths. I imagine them like an angry pack of dogs leaping forward and choking themselves with their collars.

InMySpareTime · 23/10/2025 16:26

@Serpentstooth why stop
there? It’s been the White House for ages, surely it’s about time for a new paint job. The Gold House, with a super casino on the side and a golf course on the roof.

Serpentstooth · 23/10/2025 16:46

Agree. He could actually recycle that faux-Indian monstrosity from his failed Atlantic City casino, design based on the Taj Mahal (designed by a Muslim; dont tell him). All suggestions welcomed. If you think its too much, it's probably not enough.

SerendipityJane · 23/10/2025 17:01

Of course the reason it's the Whitehouse is the British burned the original down in 1812 (after tucking into the grub the defenders left when they fled).

However fans of private property will be relieved to hear that the army gave strict instructions that soldiers were to respect and not damage private homes and properties.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 23/10/2025 17:08

Look at the size and bling of his mate's house. They should knock the whole piddling little White House down and build something more befitting of a king president.

Helps if I include the link:

It's hard not to feel Trump is living up to all Basil Fawltys expectations of Americans.

Justdancevance · 23/10/2025 18:16

He’s dragging America back to the Eighties, probably the last time he had a clear train of thought.

For reasons probably associated with far too many illegal substances in the 80s, I had a brief image of Trump rocking a mullet.
