Taking paracetamol doesn’t give you autistic babies but voting for Trump definitely gives you a festering carcass of American rot shoved into an ill-fitting suit: the sleaze of a conman, the cowardice of a draft dodger, the gluttony of a parasite, the racism of a Klansman, the sexism of a back-alley creep, the ignorance of a bar-stool drunk, and the greed of a hedge-fund ghoul— all spray-painted orange and paraded like a prize hog at a county fair.

In my experience @derxa is not a troll. I think we agree on very little, but I think they are genuine.

Derxa, how would you feel if the announcement was made that as of next week, women can only work in farming in traditional female roles? No more sheep for you.

ScienceDragon · 30/09/2025 15:14

US military is already down by about 2000~ pilots - if they got rid of women, they would lose another 1000. And that is in an area where women perform equally as well as men, and sometimes better. Women also make very capable snipers, often better than men.

If they managed to get rid of all women in active combat roles, and all the other so-called "DEI hires", the US military might lose as much as 40% of current personnel. But I am sure China won't mind (they incidentally, not only have women in all active combat roles, but actually have all female special forces units as well). Of course, China is well known for its DEI hires.

Because I’m self employed. I wouldn’t put it past this government to try that. They’ve tried everything else to destroy farming.

There are no words for the lack of professionalism of this government

Oh, I don't think they're a troll, and in general, I don't mind disagreement.

It's just that there are plenty of threads where that's at least welcomed, if not the point. This one seems sort of like a safe space for those of us who are really in a state of despair to vent about what's happening, so it seems churlish to come on just for the purpose of being provocative.

You are not answering the question.

How would you feel if farming became male only?

Having visited incredibly patriarchal countries
the chances of the men demanding to do all of the hard work of lambing
are pretty much nil
@derxa is safe to carry on adding salt and pepper to the discussion

His ability to witter for hours without pausing for breath and covering everything from rock throwing, ugly boats, “bopping” down stairs and Ukraine is quite unmatched.

No eye roll big enough.for this level of absolute nonsense.

Trump: “I am so disappointed in Putin. I thought he would get this thing over with. He should have had that war done in a week.”

And he's back to annexing Canada as well

Trump: "The ones that are run by radical left Democrats -- what they've done to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles. They're very unsafe places & we're gonna straighten them out one by one. This is gonna be a major part for some people in this room. That's a war too. It's war from within"

Who was it who commented they were surprised that "AI" was predicting civil was in as much as 6 months ?

They were probably right.

Hegseth: "It all starts with physical fitness and appearance. If the secretary of war can do regular hard PT, so can every member of our joint force. Frankly, it's tiring to look out at combat formations and see fat troops. Likewise, it's completely unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals."

WTAF

Will the fat president get the boot as well?

Spandauer · 30/09/2025 17:23

I just can't believe that all those generals and admirals are on board with Trump's (and Hegseth's) garbled rhetoric. I appreciate that a good number of them are probably quite conservative tending towards the Republican 'values' of old but they are also men and women who will have seen action and witnessed their comrades' deaths in the Gulf, Iraq, Afghanistan etc during their time in the military so would definitely know a cowardly, draft dodging, bullshitting motherfecker when they see one.

@ScienceDragon this was my first thought on removing females from combat roles - a drastic reduction in troop numbers. I also wish MSM would just call Hegseth the Secretary for War.😡

@derxa the best thing about this thread is that posters access media that we don't all necessarily follow, and by sharing links we are able to keep a good eye on the totality of the actions of the Trump administration/family.

Even though that requires taking a deep breath before reading/listening.

Is there a US equivalent of the stab in the back legend ? That was how Hitler seduced the army.

OMG this William G. Young opinion that just dropped (12:30pm) in AAUP v. Rubio.
It begins with a postcard sent to Chambers and Young's reply

I had to look up 'stab in the back + hitler' but can see it in the Trump playbook.

I can't credit Trump himself with coming up with this tactic, so who's driving the narrative, Vance?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 30/09/2025 21:05

I can't really see how it would be played, because the army hasn't been betrayed after fighting a war, except by Trump's precipitate decision to run away from Afghanistan in three months flat. I suppose they could claim that withdrawal was entirely Biden's decision, but even then it didn't really have all that much effect on anyone in America so it wouldn't have the same impact. Germany was really hammered in the peace after 1918; America has suffered no such difficulty until Trump created one with his idiotic tariffs.

Hegseths clear out sounds like the start of righting some imagined wrongs.
