Trump and paracetamol. Why?

I mean does he believe this nonsense? Does he gain from it somehow? Does he think it increases his popularity? Is it all for attention?

Why has he put this nonsense out? What's in it for him?

Why are you so sure it's nonsense?

EarthlyNightshade · 23/09/2025 12:01

They said they would have a cause by September, it's quite far into September.

It's yet another thing for women to worry about and blame themselves for.

It keeps people talking about him.

fungibletoken · 23/09/2025 12:01

My guess is control. Make your followers paranoid about other authorities so they feel you are the only one they can trust. He also seems quite paranoid himself, so may be more open to conspiracy theories and the like anyway.

ChocHotolate · 23/09/2025 12:02

Because it places the blame on the mother.
Evangelical Christianity and Project 2025 hate women and want their rights removed.
They have removed reproductive freedoms, want to remove their rights to vote and now want to remove their right to medical autonomy during pregnancy including basic pain relief.

MrsLeonFarrell · 23/09/2025 12:02

This from a man who suggested we drink bleach to cure covid.

QueenClinomania · 23/09/2025 12:02

Imo it's distraction.

TeaForTheTillermanSteakForTheSun · 23/09/2025 12:03

He said he would find the cause for autism this month so has to blame something.

He was always going to put the blame on women somehow, and blaming them for not 'toughing out' pain is convenient for him, and he will use this made up shit to further control women.

In short, he's an arsehole on a power trip who makes up shit and his cult following believes everything he says.

Good quality peer reviewed research with says there is no link and no good quality peer reviewed research wihich says there is a link.

SolarVie · 23/09/2025 12:05

He's pitting himself against science and the drug companies because they won't do his bidding.

unsurewhattodoaboutit · 23/09/2025 12:05

To distract us from the Epstein list? Because Trump’s a nutter? 🤷‍♀️

Remember also this is hot on the heels of the research last week that said women who have painful periods are more likely to suffer chronic pain at 26.
So our pain shouldn't be pandered to and if we buy things to stop our kids being in pain we put them at risk. Women, know your place!
Maybe he thinks America should be raising the next Spartan Race...who knows.

SpackelFrog · 23/09/2025 12:09

Ah look at the scary paracetamol brushes nonce activity under rug

Who sponsored this 'good quality peer review research'?

Lets not forget that the 'peer review research' arena is completely corrupted and has been for at least a decade.

Oh ffs.

Poiny · 23/09/2025 12:12

Ah, I'd somehow missed the bit about him curing Autism by the end of the month.

I know there's no point trying to understand him, but I wondered why he'd want to be attached to something so ridiculous.

Out of interest, if everyone stops taking paracetamol who gains? What's the most likely substitute?

OP posts:
gamerchick · 23/09/2025 12:15

Claming women are to blame as well as paracetamol is pretty much what you expect from that lot.

There are some dark times ahead. Now there is blame. Mothers are going to get more stick for damaging their kids. Litigation is going to go through the roof against pharmaceutical companies.

Why I don't know.

spicetails · 23/09/2025 12:15

He thought we should inject bleach to get rid of Covid, too. M
He’s a sandwich short.

Autism mum here - I didn’t take one single paracetamol or any other prescribed or otc drug during my pregnancy.

It’s a crock

If we can't trust peer review science when it says there's no link between acetaminophen and autism then we also cannot trust peer review science that suggests there is. So on what should we base science questions? Vibes?

Why are you so sure it's nonsense?

There just been a really big swedish study that found no link.

https://ranzcog.edu.au/news/paracetamol-use-in-pregnancy/#:~:text=This%20study%20of%202.5%20million,paracetamol%20exposure%20and%20offspring%20neurodivergence.

Previous research raised concerns that exposure to paracetamol during pregnancy may increase the chance of the offspring being diagnosed with ASD or ADHD during childhood. The earlier studies showed an association between paracetamol exposure and these diagnoses but were importantly limited by a methodological inability to differentiate between the effect of paracetamol as a causative exposure as opposed to a statistical association.

The most recent and robust study to evaluate this association was published in 2024 by Ahlqvist et al.1 This study of 2.5 million Swedish children found that, when controlling for important factors including parental neurodivergent diagnoses and sibling relationships, there was no association between paracetamol exposure and offspring neurodivergence.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists disputed the link.

Health officials in the UK have all come out saying it's wrong.

Likely causes of autism are gentic and some likely environtal factors but there is a proven link with older fathers.

As to why I assume it plays into US poltics in some way - anti big pharm, anti women - anti science all of which this adminstration seems to be - and possible a distraction from something else.

The link between parental age and autism, explained

Older men and women are more likely than young ones to have a child with autism, but this connection is not straightforward.

Why are we giving him and his fucking crackpot ideas airtime?

why are the media pandering to him?

All that’s happening is his fruit loop ideas are being spread

More nonsense which proves, if proof were needed that Donald Trump is losing his marbles.
