Why is no-one talking about the d4vd situation?

Every update I see makes me feel physically sick.

Even if he’s innocent there’s no coming back from this.

Because the first return when I googled him said he was a rapper.

I also assumed he was a rapper and, as I said before, only heard of him when the news first hit the headlines but it definitely has been in the British press.

In this day and age many celebrities or musicians have stage names that involved numbers or punctuation. It still always looks odd to me but not enough that I assume a typo.

I hadn’t realised that the girl had been on his social media posts or music videos. She was reported missing so did she just not have anybody that cared?

As it happens I had seen the story but had no idea what the title meant or who’s car it was

Or, alternatively, if you are starting a post about a subject that you think no one is talking about, which suggests that many people haven't heard about it, why not give some details in the OP, or a link to a report.

This would have the effect of spreading the story more widely and getting it talked about more, rather than leaving many people to shrug and think it can't be very interesting or important or people would be wanting the story better known.

That’s what showed up for me too. D4vd punched into Google comes up with suggestion D4vd rap songs so I assumed rapper.

I suspect his audience is a bit younger than your average mumsnetter.

I put d4vd in and found many articles.

He’s not a suspect so not alleged to have done anything.

And he’s a two-bit singer who most people on here have never heard of.

The very fact that people are telling posters to go and google him shows this.

This thread is ironic really. If the OP had actually posted any detail then we wouldn’t have a thread talking about what posters had found on google. In fact we wouldn’t have a thread because nobody has ever heard of him, so the OP posting the detail would mean that most posters would probably have just scrolled on by after all, there’s nothing to see here really.

It has been reported in most mainstream news sources. And if you have DC aged between around 11 and 16 there is a strong likelihood they knew of him before this happened. Lots of young kids are following all the gruesome revelations emerging about somebody they looked up to and may need to talk about it with their parents.

I hadn't heard of him before this this but it's definitely a pretty big news story in US. According to my kids it's all over tiktok, YouTube, Instagram and Reddit. It seems like LOTS of people are talking about it.
