Why is no-one talking about the d4vd situation?

I have no idea who this is or what this post is about, but a quick google revealed D4vd wrote a song called Romantic Homicide and the lyrics are…

I would suggest that there is no coming back from being found in a car with a decomposing body at all. RIP to the young girl who has sadly lost her life 💔

I suspect:

1. because very few people have actually heard of him (I had to google him),
2. because, so far, a body has been found in a car registered to him, nothing more,
3. because the LAPD, while investigating him, have said nothing about him being a "suspect" or even a "person of interest",
4. because a person (even under Trump) is innocent until proven guilty, and
5. because people don't like shit-stirring.

Being on an ad campaign does not necessarily mean people know who you are. You could just be just some random actor.

He is no where near as famous as you seem to think he is OP.

I don’t think he’s famous enough for it to a headline in the U.K. Poor girl such an awful way to go. At least now the family will be able to say their goodbyes.

It wouldn’t have occurred to me that d4vd is an individual’s name. I would have assumed it was a typo.

The reason no one is talking about it is because this is a UK site and the vast majority of people will have not heard of him and it has not been mentioned in UK news.

Cos I don't want my search engine to have a record of something possibly very weird or inappropriate.

Yes, you are right. I won't see 60 again and have seen loads of Robert Redford films. I assumed the name in the OP was a typo for DVD as I have never heard of him either.

I loathe rap. To me it is just noise not music, so it's no wonder I had no idea who he is.

But really....I'm mid 30s. Never heard of him before and its not like I don't use Spotify or have knowledge of current music. I don't have teen kids yet so they don't know these sort of YouTube stars or listen to this sort of music.

People are talking about it? It’s all over YouTube true crime channels.

He has a massive fan base amongst tweens and young teens. My younger kids knew exactly who he was. The shock when this story broke was enormous. The more details that emerge the more distressing the whole story is.

You could have tried to search for it as it was, just because you didn’t recognise the name doesn’t mean google wouldn’t.

This is how algorithms and echo chambers work. You think the whole world knows about something. When in fact it’s just your little corner of the internet

And fame is subjective

It was clear that OP was talking about a person. It would not have occurred to me that d4vd was that person's name. It doesn't look anything like a name, or even a typo of a name.

It’s a shame that a young girl has died and posters are fixated on spelling and whether or not the alleged killer is a celebrity.
