He was heart stoppingly beautiful as a young man. Well, for my heart.

One of my students just told me he died. Genuinely sad.

Yes, very much so but had depth of character which is also very attractive IMO.

I loved him in The Way We Were with Barbra Streisand.

Yes - I feel a bit bad appreciating him so much for his looks! Intelligent and principled too which are much more attractive traits in people you actually meet.

His only Oscar nomination in acting was for was for The Sting. He won best director for Ordinary People.

As a teenager, I had a poster of him on his motorbike.

Just saw a clip of that on the news, I have never watched that all the way through, not due to lack of desire so must try to watch that.

Wow, that's really surprising, he seemed like he was incredibly versatile, not type cast.

I no, I wasn't criticising, he was beautiful but his character just added to that I suspect.

Oh, that is very sad. I loved him in his later years too. The Old Man and the Gun is a great film.

Reform is beginning to look like a failed Conservative members’ club. If they want to attract the red wall they could well find come an election many voters will baulk at voting for Tories they have always opposed. Not that I want Reform to succeed. It’s the same as Labour are putting all their efforts into attacking Reform without looking at votes they are losing to the left.

Thank you for all the good wishes and understanding about my little cat. The world today is so utterly depressing, I have difficult issues in extended family and she was the simple, uncomplicated, relationship in my life, especially now kids left home. Feeling bereft.

Can't bear thought of Trump here. Can't bear what America has become and what we are becoming. Can't bear the flag being weaponised. Am recently retired and genuinely feel sad that things probably won't get better in my lifetime .
