Binary sex in mammals is real and cannot be changed, as much as I, as a female, would love to do that. Gender is a social construct which requires empathy and understanding - and I have that, but I doubt Farage does.

Change your gender by all means, the caveat being that sex cannot change.

There are some bloody brilliant people around.

It most certainly is science. Huntington disease is autosomal which means it's equal 50/50 in being passed on to either male or female. No sex bias. It's a particularly devastating disease.

There is a Bulgarian comedy film where Bulgarians in the UK (this was pre Brexit) see "wild" swan on the river Thames and kill one for eating. But this causes a diplomatic crisis as the swans actually belong to the Queen so the Bulgarian embassy ends up caught up in an Ealing Comedy style caper trying to cover up the swan murder.

But this was a slapstick comedy not a documentary.

It's just shamefaced now.

Frage used it after his orange hero stated that Haitians eat cats and dogs.

It's getting harder for people to deny he is a racist.

It's moving into Trump territory where he just says incredibly outrageous, untrue, racist things and it doesnt hurt his ratings so he can up the anti even further. It's one of the differences between Trumps 2016 campaign and his 2024 one. 2024 he was completely unleashed and it didn't hurt him. In fact, when people call it out they end up looking like prudes/hysterical/crying wolf over racism. Or you get "well all politicians lie, he's just telling it like it is".

Its horribly damaging to politics.

Its the same technique used on here by Trump/ Farage/ other well known far right activists.

Speaking of both graffiti and Farage, we have a better class of graffiti around here, which I photographed while taking Manny for a walk from the dogs’ home. Photo of Manny too, as someone is bound to request one!

Not just the eating swan line. Eyewitness claims of swan eating, followed by assertions that the posters disagreeing are proof that they live in a dreamland and are blind to the REALITY of swan eating that ordinary people see every day. Followed by several pages of arguing about swans. Followed by a huffy "noone on here is saying immigrants eat swans. That's a strawman". Followed by another post "I just don't want immigrants to eat swans."

Isn't there some research that shows reporting doesn't actually affect polling ? So Farage fans will simply shrug off any bad stories regardless of truth, while by the same token his detractors simply accept them.

With those optics reversed around positive stories. fans will swallow them whilst detractors will poo-poo them.

I think in US2024 bore that out ?

The BBC is now making sure we all know about the expensive asylum seeker taxis.

Horrific. The emphasis should have been on why families are being separated!

I used to think people were a bit paranoid about the BBC but it's become very obvious.

Yes the taxis sounded like one of those easily preventable wastes of money that should fixable (although of course they would also need taxis less if there weren't angry crowds outside the hotels). But the splitting up of families and the shifting people around the country for no.real reason was awful.
