It's been 9 horrible months and I find myself looking back on those "eating the cats and dogs" days with nostalgia.

It saddens me that the First amendment is sacrosanct
until it isn't

John Roberts will not go down in history well.
I wonder if he cares

Oh my goodness

I maybe shouldn't post this but I have to but I wont do a link

My heart goes out to Charlie Kirk's wife Erica and their small children. No one deserves to have a life taken away in that manner

However
Her first social media post (and I have carefully researched this to make sure it is legitimate) is weeping over an open casket of her husband and footage of her caressing his hands. This is a dead body being used as a prop and I find it really unpleasant. Sorry
Just my opinion

She's not going to waste a second of this opportunity to make an impact/promote the brand, etc.

SerendipityJane · 14/09/2025 10:42

Death by strudel by all accounts.

Sadly not. She made the children drink poison The older ones who apparently realised what was happening - had to comfort the younger ones as they drank the bitter milk, before drinking it themselves. The she and the man of the family either blew their brains out or took cyanide (or both).

There were six children and she refused to allow them to be take out of Germany for safety.

Very grim. No one of the people who built the third reich came to a happy end. And if we are comparing present day people to them, it's because we are kind and we are trying to save them from the same fate.

And - as Baldrick said - blood is hell to shift.

For context, South Korea has the US military’s largest overseas base, 41,000 people including troops and their families. Is this the point when South Koreans start questioning their relationship and worship of all things American?

South Korean workers detained by ICE return home after saga that has rattled close US friendship | CNN

More than 300 South Korean workers detained in Georgia last week arrived home on Friday, marking the end of a saga that has stunned their nation and threatened to upend a close bilateral friendship.

Seeing a few reports that the shooter's room mate was transitioning and he may have been in a sexual relationship with him - fits with the topic being discussed at the point of shooting as being (excuse the pun) a trigger.

I don't fully understand how this squares with the fact he was further right than Kirk. I get that the current theory is that kids in strict conservative families are more afraid of being gay than dating a trans person, and that it why many kids transition, but I can't imagine the far right being OK with either, or is that where the shame and murderous intent kicks in? I get there were likely a lot of themes of causation but these do seem to be repeatedly common; male, strictly conservative, sexual orientation issues/trans, gun culture, school campus/uni. Does the person he preferred to Kirk trigger this in some way or talk about trans issues at all?

DuncinToffee · 14/09/2025 12:49

It's a rumour from the NY Post

FirstCuppa · 14/09/2025 12:53

The Guardian had it in an article I read this morning.

PerkingFaintly · 14/09/2025 13:36

Sounds a similar MO to Kirk's Professor Watchlist for dobbing in your professors for being feminist.

(For all I know doxxing sites may now be a general technique in politics. I just happen to know about this one because of reading up this week.)

A rag of a newspaper that has sunk lower than the now defunct News of the World.

placemats · 14/09/2025 15:26

It's not credible.

Talkinpeace · 14/09/2025 15:29

Nothing else we know about the shooter tallies with being in a gay relationship with a trans identifying guy.

Yes Kirk was shot just after making a comment about trans
but the shooter probably did not hear it being on a rooftop.

The "not right wing enough" makes much more sense

Can it not be both?
After posing the question earlier I reflected that he wanted to hurt someone who said bad things about his "friend" as well as get rid of a guy who he saw as muddying the waters for the way that he thinks US should be going.

I don't know why people have the ideology all trans and supporters are lefties, when most research suggests they are right wing who grew up in very traditional households where being gay isn't an option. Like the shooter. The trans movement has taken the Lesbian and Gay culture backwards and much further right than it ever has been by pitting them against women and making gay rights less likely to be supported by the public than 5 years ago.

DuncinToffee · 14/09/2025 15:35

It has already gone 'no not that room mate, the other one or even the 4th one' '

All that during his one semester a few years ago.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 14/09/2025 16:20

placemats · 14/09/2025 15:26

It's not credible.

The article in the Hindustan Times, despite the screamer headline, says
"Twiggs, along with three others - one of them reportedly Robinson's ‘trans partner’ - lived in a three-bedroom apartment in Saint George, Utah."

So not as far as we know the shooter's room-mate; his flatmate. Now we need to find out what the evidence is for anyone in that flat being trans at all... That seems to amount to "had his photo taken in furry costumes", and I am unsure just how very linked being a furry and being trans actually are.

I don't believe it. I still won't believe it even if Bigly drops in while here and tells me so himself. Especially then, actually. Propaganda 1.

My cousin was working in New York on 9/11 and was supposed to return the next day- he gave up his return flights for relatives travelling to New York looking for family.

'"Prominent far-right influencer Laura Loomer, a US senator, and a site called “Expose Charlie’s Murderers” have all drawn attention to people who have posted messages about Kirk’s Wednesday assassination."

What the heck is wrong with America? Simply saying that you have 'zero sympathy' for CK's death is enough to get you fired. And a website's been set up to doxx people.

https://edition.cnn.com/2025/09/13/business/charlie-kirk-death-fired-comments?iid=cnn_buildContentRecirc_end_recirc&recs_exp=most-read-article-end&tenant_id=popular.en

Didn't Laura Loomer despise Kirk?

CaveMum · 14/09/2025 17:45

The Hindustan Times is not a credible news source. It just scrapes the internet for click bait. Most likely it is just regurgitating the NYP article.
