Ignorant, mindless race hate.

That’s abhorrent.

I also wonder how many of the people who took part in such behaviour have been happy to have a take out from there? They’ve been running it 10 years so the locals obviously use and value it.

what the fuck is wrong with people currently?

Goldenbear · 30/08/2025 14:54

Goodness, that is just awful.

I was thinking the same about how many have been customers or are these people cooking up only English cuisine now.

Evenstar · 30/08/2025 15:05

@Spandauer that’s awful 😔

BIWI · 30/08/2025 15:06

The genie is well and truly out of the bottle now, isn’t it? Sad Angry

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. I’ve done very well! One bottle of pink Champagne, 3 bottles of gin, two lots of chocolate, a new iPad cover and a lovely scented candle. And a lovely bouquet from one of my SILs.

Dinner out tonight with DH at a French bistro in Chelsea.

So not so bad becoming a pensioner Grin

Oooh - that sounds great. Which one?

Enjoy your champagne- after a lot of thought I have cracked open a bottle of Chapel Down Rose which is excellent Kentish sparkling wine

countrygirl99 · 30/08/2025 15:07

That is awful. DB1's partner is Chinese and her parents have only just sold their takeaway business and retired. In a way I'm not surprised. Partner used to be a postie and during covid people were phoning up and complaining it was dangerous for a Chinese person to deliver the post. She ended up being put on sorting duty for her own safety.

Remember a civil war is where you will attack your neighbour of decades over spelling.

😂

You meet some, er, interesting people while waiting for a bus in Crook.

I was wondering when the home office would decide it's investigating. His party suspended him days ago.

pointythings · 30/08/2025 15:37

Happy birthday @BIWI!

I am baking like a maniac for the last ever cat fundraiser tomorrow - the lady who runs the rescue can't do the fundraisers anymore, her health won't take it. So stacks of gluten free cakes will be heading out the door tomorrow morning.

It's awful and the thugs are going to have to start making their own food if they drive away all the takeaway owners.

itsgettingweird · 30/08/2025 15:41

Yes - one would think they definitely don’t order uber eats or deliveroo!

Hope a lot of money is raised.

This cat whose photo I have posted before is on the mend after being hit by a car, but was feeling very sorry for himself when we met earlier in the week. The other three cats who live with him are being respectful of his need to be alone I am glad to say.

Living with dh and ds2(both dyslexic) and spending some time in pedants corner where I learnt my spag is ok bit not great, I'm not normally a dickhead who corrects spelling and grammar- even when it makes my hands itch (chester draws).

This week i have picked up some posters. If you intend to protect your country (from the bogeyman in the dark) at least learn how to use its bloody language.

Unfortunately it seems so & the BBC & a lot of MSM have a lot to answer for with the absolute utter bunkum that reform & some other parties spout no correction of language used or god forbid don’t let any facts get in the way of the hateful rhetoric, those poor restaurant owners what a to behave towards your neighbours & community shameful.

R4's PM actually apologised for leading with Farages speech on mass deportations, saying they wouldn't usually run with this when a party has just 4 MPs, explaining that Farage is so influential, hey have too...... yes he is, because BBC and others keep giving him airtime.

I'm sure if the MSM gave Ed Davey this amount of coverage, LDs would be higher in the polls too.

Well that's a circular argument, isn't it ?

Farage is influential because he's on the BBC more than the news.

So Farage has to be in the news because he is so influential.

placemats · 30/08/2025 17:37

I would hate to think that the BBC is working on algorithms regarding journalistic news output.
