I actually met Angela Rayner during the General Election campaign, the battle bus came to a neighbouring constituency and members from other branches were asked to turn out to support the visit and the local candidate. I think I posted about it at the time
I already liked her, but I was very impressed by her speech, the way she answered people with difficult questions and took time to listen to the concerns of a teacher and a care worker. She was good humoured and despite being under pressure from members of her team to get back on the bus as they were behind schedule but she was happy to pose for pictures and chat to us all.
She is one of Labour’s greatest assets and I for one am sick of the constant negativity from the right wing media. People who actually met her that day were really impressed.
