Most romantic film you can think of?

I’m in the mood for some true romance. Can anyone suggest something good? The ones I can think of off the top of my head are:

The Notebook
Cinema Paradiso
Atonement
Wuthering Heights (Ralph Fiennes)
Gone With The Wind
Dracula

Honourable mention to Amelie 💜

What did you decide on OP?

Nobody has mentioned Bridget Jones Diary yet but the relationship between Bridget and Darcy is just so dreamy.

Can't believe I forgot Bridget Jones, I love those films, the last one is ao sad I literally cried through the whole thing, I was devastated even though I do know its not real 😂

Magnificentkitteh · 20/08/2025 22:43

Beyond sunrise trilogy hough they get less romantic as you go along

Analysisandparalysis · 20/08/2025 22:46

Not a film, but the TV series: The Affair

trumpshairbrush · 20/08/2025 23:25

True Romance
Brokeback Mountain
The English Patient
City of Angels
Vanilla Sky

I feel like these have the most convincing and memorable depictions of love between the characters, like you really feel their love for each other in various different ways.

Brokeback Mountain. But not for the poor wife.

HerosDimples · 21/08/2025 00:07

the After series of films.

Ralph and Joseph Fiennes nephew is the main male character. As dreamy as his uncles are.

Testerical · 21/08/2025 00:14

I’ve got The Bridges of Madison County and Out of Africa queued up for our holiday. The kids will be delighted 😂 If they’re really annoying they will get Brokeback Mountain too, with all its big sky cinematography, sparse dialogue, and slow mo plot development.

There is a Tarantino film called True Romance!! I mean, it's not traditionally romantic, but...

Romeo and Juliet of course...

Agree with Brokeback Mountain. Beautifully acted and so convincing.
