A 14-year-old girl has been rescued from Russian-occupied territory.
On the eve of the full-scale invasion, her mother left for Kyiv to work, while the daughter stayed with her grandfather in their hometown, which was occupied by Russian forces in the first days of the war.
At school, the girl was forced to praise Russia and repeat propaganda narratives. Her grandfather was repeatedly threatened that she would be taken to an orphanage if he tried to send her to her mother.

❗️ A Russian drone hit a residential house in the village of Vyryki, Lublin Voivodeship, Poland.

perhaps the Penny has started to drop for Orban that Hungary may be next as they too share the border with Ukraine. The more cynical part of me thinks maybe he just backs Poland up because they are in the EU and Ukraine is not.

Not much at all. Someone has commented in the news that its just the same old crap the Kremlin has spewed before and its important to neither overreact or laugh it off. Someone else has said that the Kremlin might be concerned that the average Russian views Finland too positively still, so these threats are a way to make them view Finland less positively.
But it hasn't even made it into the English language news, or the main news site, just the smaller news companies.

Medvedev is saying that Finland has historical ties to Nazis, accuses Finland of wanting to attack Russia and take its territory, says that Finland oppresses ethnic Russians and Russian speakers within Finland, etc.

So basically the same rubbish they used to try to justify their invasion of Ukraine. It's a good thing that Finland is now a NATO member and has begun operational planning and liaison missions with the other NATO members.

If Zelensky said he'd freeze the front line, provided any who wanted to could come over to the other side. Would that be a definite no from Russia.
Otherwise millions will be Russian, persecuted too I bet, being Ukrainians.

It's not an end I ever contemplated. It would be devasting too for the troops who fought.

Not sure what the reason behind that is but if the Russians are throwing 10-20 plus drones/missiles a day at Ukraine, but Lockheed Martin can only produce maybe three Patriot rounds a day (that's a typical open source figure), and the figures will be similar for stuff like AMRAAM the west has a drone problem....

Doesn't help that some of that is based in truth, that Russians are discriminated against somewhat here (especially in regards to buying property, but that is for good reason, as Russia loves to buy up property near military bases and key infrastructure) and of course Finland does have historical ties to the Nazis, but so does bloody Russia.

it was a report from one of the Ukraine media outlets passing on a US statement about a statement from Zelensky so how reliable it is is a bit of a guess.

I can just imagine Jeremy Corbyn suggesting that we send bits of the drone to Moscow so that they can tell us if it is one of theirs. Thank god he never became PM.

Constitutions can be changed, so if he doesn't see any other way then I suppose that would be the plan. Though I hope not.

I was referring to his earlier post (Zlenskyy’s) from a few weeks ago which were his words. Constitutions can be changed but he would need to call a referendum for that from what I understand and then there’s an issue with millions of misplaced Ukrainians all over the world. It would be a logical nightmare and not a quick thing to action.

regardless of that, even if it came to that, it’s not as simple as just crossing the frozen frontline to the side you would align with. Where would these people go? We can see now that Russia doesn’t want the Ukrainian Russian speakers in the occupied territories. In Donbas nothing has been done to improve the lives of people for 11 years, quite the opposite happened. Basic things like clean water are not available. People who could leave did so years ago.
