Support for Ukraine is making you feel sick derxa?

I support Ukraine but people are dying unnecessarily. It has to stop. Would you send your son to fight?

He is an adult, he can make up his own mind if it came to that

It has to stop, well yes. Putin has to retreat not being appeased.

‘Authentic’ ? As in sincere support for Ukraine? You think Leyden doesn’t want Ukraine to succeed?
Have to say I’m flummoxed by that.

As regards the future for Ukraine - that isn’t for us to decide on their behalf.

She’s a self serving idiot. How did she get that position

MaybeNotBob · 16/08/2025 23:20

So you hate the fact that she supports Ukraine?

This is bizarre, even for you!

BIossomtoes · 16/08/2025 23:24

Wow, that’s decidedly odd @derxa.

DuncinToffee · 16/08/2025 23:25

How did she get that position? You could always have a look at her career

No I can’t stand her. She’s a fake.

🤮

Such a mature response.

PickAChew · 16/08/2025 23:34

Do you realise, @derxa thatthis meeting is with leaders of other European countries, not specifically Ursula Von de Leyen? Do they all make you want to vomit, too?

derxa · 16/08/2025 23:35

PickAChew · 16/08/2025 23:30

Such a mature response.

Maybe but people like her are revered on MN Just look at Nicola Sturgeon. An absolute walloper

LittleBowSheep · 16/08/2025 23:37

derxa · 16/08/2025 22:59

I just can’t explain it. I think it’s something to do with Ursula von der L. She’s not authentic.

WOW!! Surely to God you can see the bigger picture here?

Rather than posting such a vile response because of your dislike/hatred of one woman, can you not see that some people are trying to do good?

PickAChew · 16/08/2025 23:39

Is Nicola Sturgeon revered on MN? If she is, I must have missed that thread.

countrygirl99 · 16/08/2025 23:51

Rather Ursula VDL than Putin.

She’s hated on Scotsnet because we know how she messed up our country. But we’ve had to endure years of English people praising her 🤮

Really that's your take on a peace deal? A successful woman is part of it.

MaybeNotBob · 17/08/2025 00:26

When someone tells you what they are - believe them...

placemats · 17/08/2025 00:26

@derxa What about Thatcher, May, lettuce and Badenoch? Have they trussed up the country?

As I have told you before, MY Scottish family (who, y'know. live there) vote SNP and like Sturgeon. Your view is not the only available view, and MN's hatred of Sturgeon is, in all honesty, not representative.

The SNP has a new leader now anyway , so move on.

Observer: it will launch in September this year, with a budget of around £2.5m and ambitions to raise £25m to spend 'on policy formation, identifying candidates and hiring advisers and spokespeople for Reform or a possible merged Reform-Tory party'

I can't believe that you're making this about personalities and in so doing want to appease Putin. Answer me this: If the West gives Putin chunks of Ukraine, do you think he'll stop invading countries? Do you really think that?

History tells us appeasement doesn't work.

Notonthestairs · 17/08/2025 09:40

I wonder if GB news will try to prime the UK for a campaign to withdraw of support for Ukraine. Say it’s on the basis of the EU/EC.
It would resolve Farage’s problematic track record and align us more closely to Trump.

Meanwhile - 90 years too late, it seems this "genius" has been reading his litttle ladybird book of WW2 and found the bit where the Tories suggested staying out of the war to hang on to the empire (which the US would have taken off us anyway. I imagine he's not got to that bit yet).

I notice this interesting human being has waited until all the poor sods who fought in the war are now gone before telling the world they wasted their time. I wonder if he remembers they had families ?

Farage adviser said UK would be better off if it had not fought in WW2

Exclusive: Jack Anderton says UK may ‘regain’ former colonies in future and suggests end to support for Ukraine

Perhaps that adviser has been readng "Fatherland" by Robert Harris?
Re the Cotswolds JDV meeting, that is it for Kemi Badenoch then , if it wasn't already.
Elsewhere the BBC is lurching from crisis to crisis.
It is time for a long overdue scrutiny, in my opinion.
