Round are way there has been a spate of St. Georges flags hoisted halfway up s series of lampposts. And whilst I applaud the choice of a flag it's harder to hang wrong, I think the impact was rather blunted by the mealy mouthed excuse for the half mastedness as "too high up". The irony of shouty "patriotic" types only being prepared to put in the minimum effort wasn't lost on some.
Anyway, in a separate post, someone posted a picture of an overgrown pavement and a rather sharp-toungued poster suggested that if people have got the time to put flags up lampposts unasked, then maybe they could see their way top a spot of community work.
They didn't like that.
