Perhaps we as humans will evolve to further eradicate stupidity caused by social media overuse those people caught in the web.

Maybe it suits nature to allow them to be suborned by the elite ?

But in many homogeneous groups that lived happily side by side the elite didn't matter.

I don’t have any links or anything. Why would that woman not be able to see her very upset child. (I presume). Do you think that’s in anyone’s interest?

But it’s nothing to do with the government, is it?

This thread will come in handy (it's debunking the Tory asylum seekers perks list)

https://bsky.app/profile/monkemma.bsky.social/post/3lwhdoik7c52s
You've GOT to be kidding me!

The Conservatives - who oversaw every single thing on this list - are trying to claim that only the Conservatives would "stop the madness" - that they created...?

So incredulity aside, what about the list itself?

Let's go Debunking! 1/34

What is the actual point of that Conservative flyer? It makes it sound like asylum seekers are all having a super time over here but I would call the reality a special kind of hell.
I see it's promoted by Sheridan Westlake, a super smart Conservative Special Adviser. We briefly worked in the same department so I don't think the guy is stupid. He possibly just thinks everyone else is.

I have problems with bsky because of men who were in my DMs persistently and it took me ages to get them blocked. Constant reporting and very triggering. Thankfully have deleted the app.

Apparently there's been several such threads.

I reported one last week. It seemed to disappear.

Reform UK and the Conservatives have called the acquittal of suspended Labour councillor Ricky Jones on charges of encouraging violent disorder after he called for far-right activists’ throats to be cut "two-tier justice" and called for government action.

This was a jury trial.

Yes, juries sometimes deliver verdicts which can seem anomalous. But I'd make three points:
• You can't really comment unless you have sat through the whole trial
• What exactly is a minister meant to do?
• As the saying goes, juries are the worst system in the world apart from all the other ones.

This is the full Conservative response to the jury verdict, and it's really not clear what they actually want. A minister to overturn the decision? Fewer jury trials? Advice to juries?

Chris Philp, like almost anyone left in the Tory party, is a shit stirring xxxx

He knows full well the differences between Connolly and Jones, he is fanning the flames, he'd like nothing better than another riot.

There seems to be no depth to which the Tories wont sink too.

Someone that’s advocated burning people alive will most likely need assessment by SS once arrested - they need to be sure she ain’t a risk to her child. Thats aside from rules etc for prisoners on remand.

LlttledrummergirI · 15/08/2025 20:57

I've already had Lucy Connolly thrown at me today. Apparently the legal system is only there to do the government and elites bidding.
She was lied to when told by her lawyer to plead guilty so she got a smack on the wrist.

ilovesooty · 15/08/2025 21:36

As for the thread about two tier justice, a similar one was posted this afternoon on another forum I use. I reported it and it only lasted for half a dozen posts before the moderators locked it. I wish they'd deal with the one on here.

That is such bollocks. If you read the appeal judgement it is clear that she signed a document to say that she fully understood pleading guilty would result in a custodial sentence.

MN is absolutely howling, batshit crazy tonight.

There are a few on MN licking their lips at the prospect of a riot.

IME a lot of Spads think that.

I totally agree. It's batshit crazy. What's worse is that there are people out there who utterly believe this bollocks.

Spent yesterday evening in the delightful company of a not quite 4yo who pinged happily between speaking english, cantonese and spanish. Some of the knuckle draggers struggle with speaking comprehensible english.

Crikey it’s fascinating to note how interested and engaged certain politicians and posters are with our justice system all of a sudden.

kept their fingers off their keyboards as courts closed, the court estate crumbled (and remains crumbling), prisons overflowed, police numbers were cut, barristers went on strike, RASSO barristers left etc etc.

Now they have important commentary on the state of the legal system.

Yep, nothing the Tories wont do to trash the country in order to regain power.

Nb I don’t want to suggest that they can’t go lower. I’m sure they are more than capable.

It’s a wonder every Tory in the country doesn’t despise Johnson, he’s directly responsible for the state they’re in now.

Notonthestairs · 16/08/2025 09:56

Brexit damaged so much more than the economy.

It introduced us to a whole new raft of lightweight individuals willing to say any old bollocks.

DuncinToffee · 16/08/2025 10:35

Rees Mogg also posted against the two tier rhetoric.
