A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. Labour isn't working!

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

@ThePhantomoftheEcobubbleOpera

Ooh that would be interesting wouldn't it. I'd forgotten about her previous roles, particularly as shadow chancellor.

They are all freaks of nature. My next meeting with my wet wipe mop is next week we will be focusing on :
immigration
dwp corruption of provision being pushed rather than jobs
my sons bursary from ps
the media blackout on the lockdown at the two primaries in my area

Wet wipe mop works 😬

As in, literally wipes his arse with cloths that he keeps by the side of the toilet, or so I read in an article once. Just in case that comment is misconstrued through the lens of a tactical misreading.

Well, after beginning to doubt myself and a chat with chatgpt, it looks like that might be something of a myth.😬 Clearly it was convincing enough that it stuck. 🤣

Haha at least we have a laugh whilst we watch Labour turn everything to shite.

I'm not surprised. I have a friend whose family live in Rhodes and when they were talking about the situation there it sounded like a complete mess.

😂😂
I actually know of a family who does this. There's a lidded bucket in the bathroom for the dirty cloths, which are then washed and reused.

Reusable nappies yes. My dh's arse cloths? Big nope.

It's got to be a passion killer 🤮

Just catching up - this has taken an unexpected turn to grim land 😂.

so by the end of labour’s term, we’ll have possibly 1m new houses, and what, 5 x that number more people in the UK?

it’s not looking great…

ThePhantomoftheEcobubbleOpera · 01/08/2025 11:28

Yes, sorry 😁😬 I'll try not to lower the tone!

I'm not sure how the country will manage the housing stock, or lack thereof, under this pressure. By the end of this term things can only be worse than they currently are. My kids have dual nationality so can always ship out when it comes to it but I'd rather they weren't jettisoned around the globe just in hope of living a life were you can get by reasonably.

The job situation is starting to be realised, especially for graduates. So bad.

Just hearing report for loss in business confidence lower than the pandemic due to NI and Labour. WTF how are people still batting for them.

I just heard it on R6 headlines but looking for it it seems to be filtering through to online

Here’s a link but I’m sure other press will be picking it up too

It's also in the FT. Hasn't Starmer been boasting regularly about business confidence being at high? Clueless.

Is he getting his info from CEO’s trying to talk up their share prices on LinkedIn? Nobody I work with or in my network feels confident…

TheNuthatch · 01/08/2025 12:18

No confidence from me, or any other business owner I speak to daily. Everyone has gone into self preservation mode.

Retail sector sounding the alarm for job cuts, price rises and store closures. Ironic to read that Iceland are closing stores after the boss came out so strongly for Labour.

Former labour anti-corruption minister (you couldn't make it up 😂) Tulip Siddiq set to face trial on corruption allegations on 11th August.
