I think the situation was a little different for Agnew. Agnew resigned because he might get imprisoned for tax fraud and corruption which happened while he was in office. I don't think Vance has provably done anything that might get him imprisoned, has he? But good if he can resign, better if he does. I don't think he will yet, if at all, because he's enjoying the perks.

I think that's rather up to MAGA, isn't it ?

Spiro Agnew is interesting because his removal paved the way for POTUS to have not been directly elected (I mean I know they aren't anyway, but you get my drift).

The UK was within a reform voters IQ of having David Cameron as PM - only in this case he would not have been elected to any office. Part of me wonders if that wasn't the Big (society) Idea originally. And it only stalled because it became clear that it wasn't approved by Murdoch.

Oh, the good old days when the buggers resigned in shame when criminality exposed instead of clinging on, having a celebration party and building a nasty concrete bordello on the White House rose garden. JD will have to be prised out of office with a tyre lever while someone stomps on his fingernails. At least he's not a proven criminal as far as we know.

Crimes against eyeliner? 😉

Quite snippy by YT standards, but a good demonstration of the clear blue water around some peoples views on holding people to account. A Democrat (I presume) who wants any Epstein-connected Democrats to be exposed and to face justice for the victims.

Being very dim, I don't understand about him taking over the National Guard. Isn't that illegal? (not that illegality has stopped him before). But hasn't Gavin Newsom Calif Governor taken him to court over this when he sent all those troops down there?

Trump can invoke a rarely used law during times of invasion but surely that doesn't mean clearing away homeless people...
Aren't they using the military in unlawful ways. I think I am answering my own questions here to be honest.

DC isn’t in a state, so has no Governor (or Senators, for that matter). It’s a bit of a no-man’s-land, so very easy for Trump to take control. Funny that…he had the ability to send in the National Guard to restore order on Jan 6, but chose not to when the capital was under attack. Obviously because homeless folks are way more dangerous than militia groups who are trying to kill Mike Pence, Nancy Pelosy, et al.

@AskingQuestionsAllTheTime
A Vice President cannot be fired by a President.
They can be impeached and removed through that route.

The only way he can go is by resigning - Law 3 USC 20, which states The only evidence of a refusal to accept, or of a resignation of the office of President or Vice President, shall be an instrument in writing, declaring the same, and subscribed by the person refusing to accept or resigning, as the case may be, and delivered into the office of the Secretary of State.

What’s been the deal with JD’s visit? I haven’t seen any press….how was the reception with any “outspoken” residents—or was there not any confrontation?

The US Constitution - for reasons lost in the mists of time - made a point that the federal capital (i.e. the capital) should not be in any individual state. Probably to prevent it falling to insurrection.

So Washington "D.C" was created as a federal enclave inside Maryland. People living there have slightly odd options when voting.

Here in the UK we've had the mildly amusing situation that it's not uncommon for London to be administered by the political party that is not in power. So in the 1980s (until it was abolished) the labour run GLC used to post the jobless total on a huge banner opposite the houses of parliament. And rather that ignore it, Mrs Thatchers government made the mistake of trying to ban it ....

The White House plans to conduct a far-reaching review of Smithsonian museum exhibitions, materials and operations ahead of America’s 250th anniversary to ensure the museums align with President Trump’s interpretation of American history.

Breaking: JD Vance just arrived in the Cotswolds, UK, on holiday.

Apparently having this meme on his phone got one tourist banned from entering the US.

So here it is on a huge billboard near where JD's holidaying 👍

📍Cheltenham, Cotswolds, UK

So here it is on a huge billboard near where JD's holidaying.

Apparently there is also a van driving around his Cotswold location with the same image showing on all sides. (Video in post below)

The Brits are experts in satire! A van is currently following JD Vance during his English vacations. So is JD now sure that there is no free speech in the UK?

I saw that comment but couldn't find info about the van. Thanks for finding it!

Blimey.

Is it because MTG wants the Epstein Files released?
