Trumplethinskin wants his Situation Room photo because it most definitely rained on his parade - Trump thread #145 | Mumsnet

BREAKING: The Supreme Court allows the Trump administration to move forward with the abolition of the Department of Education. It gives no explanation for its order. All three liberals dissent. www.documentcloud.org/documents/25997474-24a1203-order/

From Sotomayor's dissent:

How can they wilfully destroy their own country's future like this? It's beyond disgraceful. What is wrong with these people?

Serpentstooth · 15/07/2025 06:50

He took the trophy? Surely FIFA presented it to him for his Amazing Presidenting Like Wot Nobody Has Seen Before. As for Mr Carney, let's cheerfully grouple him. All welcome, more power to his elbows.

They're basically the commercial branch of the Taliban.
Probable next stage... desegregation of schools, females only educated to a certain level in approved subjects, funding held back for schools and colleges in blue cities, proliferation of charter and faith schools run by flat earthers etc... whilst raking in the $$$$.

Maybe they should have hung it on a chain around his neck.

😂 was looking at the tarted up White House on tv yesterday. There's a book, Dictator Chic, outdated now and so old the photography isn't up to today's standards. However, given the state of the new goldy look for the White House - "I'm a very artistic guy" he said with reference to this - perhaps Bigly will find time to edit and re-issue it. He can melt the trophy down if he runs out of goldy.

prettybird · 15/07/2025 09:01

Missed the new thread. I did think it was strange there hadn’t been many posts about his self-centred shenanigans at the FIFA Club World Cup Grin

Serpentstooth · 15/07/2025 09:20

Looking forward to deranged Bigly posts about how he won the World Cup single handedly, the Only President to Win So Bigly. Is there a word for narcissism taken to the nth degree?

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 15/07/2025 09:22

@Serpentstooth - Trumpicissm?

Serpentstooth · 15/07/2025 09:28

Yes, j'aichange, I think that's perfect. Thank you. "The Only US President to Have His Very Own Word with His Name in It!. They named it after Me! How good is thst?!" 🇺🇸

Pausing to look over it slowly - given how much Trump has flip-flopped and not really dented his support - there is definitely a piece of a puzzle that we can't see.

You will have seen this already, I guess (going by your link earlier in the thread), but others may not have done: it seems something may have dented some of his support, even so.

Indeed (that's one of my more sane sources of commentary).

Seems the key thing is a lot of MAGA was built on the whole deep-state-Epstein wave of sentiment that goes back well before 2020. It seems more fundamental than a lot of the later MAGA bolt ons.

I think this may be an instance that there is no real analog in UK political life. Farages recent conversion to mass immigration doesn't seem to have rattled his base and whilst it would be amusing to speculate that's because they haven't realised what he (and indeed Reform) are saying, surely one or two of them can read ? Here the silence is complicit media.

Maybe there is something about freedom of speech in the US ?

I think she is "Mrs Beau" ... he's stepped back now, but always a very calm and measured take on US events. And refreshingly pithy. I find a lot of commentators have perfected the art of squeezing a minutes update into a quarter hour snoozefest.

Maybe that's why the democrats lost ? Most right wing pundits know if they haven't got the message over in less than the time it takes to get a beer from the fridge ....

I was watching the Meidas Touch and hidden in some waffle was a threat to takeover DC and New York and become their ruler directly.

It's a sad fact that the amazing spread of technology that has meant that because anyone can sit in front of a camera, some people took it as a compulsion.

A lot of these folk mean well. But by Christ do they drone. I dare not try and catch them at night because the snooze train will be stopping very soon.

Generally, I see the titles of videos in my feed and I can then hit the right words in various engines to pull up the story.

However, like all badly made tools, it's not a good idea to throw them away. But it can feel like panning for gold at times.

There are just as many soporific UK channels too, so this isn't meant to be partisan

@AskingQuestionsAllTheTime I’m having trouble accessing that YouTube post, it makes me sign in but doesn’t take me to a specific video. Would it be possible for you to post an actual url for the video, please? Or some sort of description of who it’s by, so that I can search for it myself on YouTube? Thanks a lot!

She absolutely is "Mrs Beau" and used to turn up occasionally on his podcasts at times like Thanksgiving. I was vastly amused by one of the Repug people setting out to denigrate him because he has got a somewhat iffy past, who claimed he had hired an actress to do the channel for him. That is no actress.

I tried to be clear about this and the result was that I was denied access, something to do with the cloud! So I shall try again.

She is called "Belle of the Ranch". You also get her if you search for "Beau of the Fifth Column". This particular video has the title "Let's talk about Trump's policy polling plummet...."

The url that I posted originally was www[dot]youtube[dot]com/watch?v=pb88L3s5n8U and perhaps if you put that in with the "[dot]"s changed to full stops it might work? What I get is simply that video playable within the thread, but I can see it must be very annoying if you don't get that. Sorry.

Edited to add: glad you sorted it while I was flailing about in a denied access condition. Be warned: Belle and Beau are a rabbit-hole. When I first discovered Beau it took me three days to emerge.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 15/07/2025 12:26

Thank you, @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime. For the moment I’m watching Stephen Colbert on Epstein and FIFA, but I’m sure I’ll go down that rabbit-hole shortly!

Maddow on the Trump-appointed boss of FEMA is also worth a watch.

JoshLymanSwagger · 15/07/2025 13:37

@Serpentstooth that's a coincidence. I was googling pics of the Oval pre-makeover. I was sure it was less "ponced".
It looks like someone has over ordered self-adhesive plastic scrolls and flung them at the fireplace/walls.
I just hope they're easier to remove than 🍊🌮

I suspect he's seen the photos of the residences/offices of Zelenskyy and Putin, not to mention Buckingham Palace.
Envy thy name is Donny.

As for his "Trophy Mantelpiece", at least there isn't a mini statue of Melania on it. I bet she can't wait until he ODs on coke.

Belle and Beau are a rabbit-hole. When I first discovered Beau it took me three days to emerge.

Way back when, Beau did a video on gun control. It tickled me that he demonstrated the lunacy of Biden ideas with a toy rifle, making the point that it was just the same as a real one for demo purposes.

Now I have a UK sensibility to guns. And I also admit they have to be the exception in my generally libertarian outlook. However his argument that the best way to reduce gun violence was by a proper upbringing did kinda make sense. Someone has to explain the fact that the states with easiest access to guns are not the states with the worst gun violence ....

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 15/07/2025 14:12

The NRA used to teach gun safety to kids. Not any more.

I'm just checking in, thanks for the new thread @Spandauer

Keeping the World Cup trophy has actually rendered me speechless. Sure, FIFA 'gave it to him'. After a little touch of blackmail, I'm sure.
