I have listened to a podcast about her father and her. She had a very peculiar upbringing. Robert Maxwell was a liar, a thief and a sadist. I think Ghislaine felt that what she was doing was quite normal

I think we plebs haven't fully grasped the entitlement felt by the few who live at the financial level of, for instance, the Maxwells, Royals, Murdochs, Musks, Trumps, Epstein and Co. What they want, they buy. Anything. Everyone. In that world, everyone outside it is either a rival or a bottom feeder. I estimate that most of the names on The List, if such exists, are wondering what all the fuss is about. Surrounded by sycophants meeting their wants, servants are there to serve them and Epstein's girls fall into that category; that's what they were there for. Why else would we associate with them? And how else would we meet these young beauties if Ghislaine didn't go out and shop for them? Recall Prince Andrew's bewilderment and insistence he hadn't done anything wrong? I expect he still believes it. In their transactional world, we're the idiots and should probably be impressed our daughters have been allowed to rub shoulders with privilege. It's medieval. He also railed against the Pod Save America guys in that very rambling interview (3 hours long apparently), they thought it was hilarious! He plays 100% into the narrative that some Democrats feel that Biden was "entitled" to be President, that it was somehow owed to him and that any talk against a second term should be quashed at all costs.

I sincerely doubt that it will bring Trump down - that man is the cockroach of politics, nothing seems to harm him. However it is very likely that the whole sordid affair will severely damage the Republicans - the extreme MAGA crowd that buy into the conspiracy nonsense will desert them and we may find other smaller factions will start to break off.

Musk will be able to play into this: he doesn't need to pay for a whole new party just buy himself 4 or 5 congressman/senators so that the balance of power in votes sits with them.

Best case scenario - dur to infighting the Republican vote collapses at the Midterms, the Dems take back the House and/or Senate and Trump is a lame duck for his final two years.

Even if the Republicans manage to hold it together for the Midterms, it is highly unlikely that the next nominee, be it Vance, Trump Jr or whoever, will be able to hold things together in the same way DJT has and the whole house of cards is likely to collapse.

If threads on Epstein and Maxwell are anything to go by, MAGA will soon be blaming the girls.

Doubtful I know, but part of me hopes that they talk to Ghislaine and she goes to town on Trump. Watch the Republicans then try to explain that what she had to say was not of interest while desperately trying not to let anyone find out what was said.

As I said, her team should go all in and point out that anything other than a POTUS pardon effectively confirms that at least some of the charges she was found guilty of are real.

The fact they "missed" this trick speaks volumes. And I am sure she isn't so dim as to miss this.

Since her incarceration her family set up a website about Ghislaine professing her innocence

Her brother has just done an interview with The Spectator and its made me very angry. He talks like the whole thing is a conspiracy theory, Ghislaine is totally innocent, he besmirches now dead by suicide Guiffre in a horrible way, and admits that although there was about 1,000 victims (as defined by DoJ) it was spread over a 20-year period so it wasn't that bad.

The Maxwell family protesting innocence is actually more of a problem for Trump, should the media make it so, than if she had admitted to guilt.

Because if she is innocent (as she claims) then why would Trump not pardon her ? It was a federal court sentence so within his power.

I realise MAGA tend to be a bit behind the news cycle, until it's been read out for them, but they really should be seizing on this as Trumps clearest opportunity yet to prove his words.

It remains a mystery why he's passed up the opportunity to appoint a special prosecutor to soak up any more news for the next 3 years.

Does anyone know what the hell this is about? Somehow it smacks of Trumpism to me, or am I deluded?
