Last night I dreamed I was watching Busman's Holiday although I haven't watched it for years! But when I woke up I had the Krypton Factor on my mind. I enjoyed both of these as a child.

I don't like these kinds of shows anymore but it git me thinking about how many I watched as a kid:

Strike it Lucky
Family Fortunes with Les Dennis
The Price is Right with Leslie Crowther
Gladiators
Blockbusters with Bob Holness
The one with a dart game but can't remember the name? The players could win a Bully?
Catchphrase
The Weakest Link

I just don't like modern shows. I watched some of Who Wants to be a Millionaire and another I can't remember.

Which ones did/do you watch?

You are thinking of Bullseye!

Also, Going for Gold with Henry Kelly. That was compulsory viewing if I was off school for any reason!
You bet.

WaneyEdge · 03/07/2025 10:30

Bullseye
Night Fever - with Suggs
Big Break
Chain Letters
Lucky Ladders
Most of the ones you listed too, no one else I know remembers Busman’s Holiday!

Idontknowhatnametochoose · 03/07/2025 10:31

Bullseye! That's it! I loved that.

I didn't watch Going for Gold.

I just had a quick look at the opening sequence of Krypton Factor on youtube. it's really funny how twenty year old looked so different in the 80s!

Give us a clue
The Krypton Factor - this was a fave in our house!

JackJarvisEsq · 03/07/2025 11:23

Loved Telly Addicts

Denimrules · 03/07/2025 12:04

Many of these pop up on Challenge channel on Freeview. 48 on a Freeview tv.

Bullseye is weirdly dated. It looks older than it is, quite deliberately retro.

They have just finished showing The Weakest Link. I can't abide her politics but Anne Robinson was magnificently and hilariously rude to contestants.

Comedycook · 03/07/2025 12:07

Going for gold
Fifteen to one

That one with Des O'Connor I think where he would ask you questions but you couldn't say yes or no...

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 03/07/2025 12:15

There was one with Cilla Black where a member of the family, usually the Dad would do something to compete for a whole load of expensive items or a trip to Disney, I think it was stopped because of all the crying traumatised children who lost! I want to say it was called Moment of Truth

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 03/07/2025 12:16

Was the Des O’Connor one Take Your Pick?

SpeculatingRooks · 03/07/2025 12:18
