Last night I dreamed I was watching Busman's Holiday although I haven't watched it for years! But when I woke up I had the Krypton Factor on my mind. I enjoyed both of these as a child.

I don't like these kinds of shows anymore but it git me thinking about how many I watched as a kid:

Strike it Lucky
Family Fortunes with Les Dennis
The Price is Right with Leslie Crowther
Gladiators
Blockbusters with Bob Holness
The one with a dart game but can't remember the name? The players could win a Bully?
Catchphrase
The Weakest Link

I just don't like modern shows. I watched some of Who Wants to be a Millionaire and another I can't remember.

Which ones did/do you watch?

Was the Des O’Connor one Take Your Pick?

Yeah I think that was it...then after the yes no game I think you got a key to open a box and he'd offer you money and you had to choose whether you'd take the cash or open the box

"bernie, the bolt' .. "The Golden shot' with Bob Monkhouse.

... I think I may be a little older than some others on here.

Loved that show!

Anyone else remember 'Face the Music'? You actually had to be quite knowledgeable.

Does anyone else remember Steal? It featured an animated cat burglar.

Hans Zimmer wrote the theme tune to Going for Gold.

RaininSummer · 03/07/2025 13:08

Going for Gold was our shared house entertainment at lunchtimes as a student

One plink of a piano key...I don't think so.

alloutofcareunits · 03/07/2025 13:18

I was on the TV show Puzzle Party with Gyles Brandreth, the year above me were chosen but then needed 4 more and the 4 eldest from the year below were added, me being one of them. No one probably remembers it but I still remember the theme tune and we had the Gnu we won in a display cabinet in the school reception. It was VERY exciting at the time, probably 1976

I remember vividly watching with my dad, and he guessed ‘In A Persian Market’ from one plink.

It impressed me so much I’ve remembered the title for 45 years!

Robert Robinson?

BlueEyedBogWitch · 03/07/2025 13:23

I used to like Screen Test with Chris Kelly. Robert Robertson did Ask The Family.

There used to be one called Cabbages and Kings on in the afternoons that made no sense to me at all. I think Frank Muir might have been involved.

There was also one called Gambit presented by Jimmy Tarbuck.
