Which celebrity’s death do you feel shocked at?

I would probably say Robin Williams. Which is probably an obvious one. George Micheal and Bowie also.

I know! We were just looking at his wedding photos at the weekend. Three wee babies without a daddy now.

I was quite shocked at this one. Such a huge reminder that asthma can kill for all of us not taking it as seriously as we should.

Also Charlotte Coleman who was Scarlett in Four Weddings And A Funeral. Another asthma death.

Heath Ledger and Steve Irwin

Diogo Jota’a death has really shocked me this morning. Just married and 3 young children. I hate to hear of the death of young people.

No smoke, without fire. There's having a love of children, and creating a theme park, paying off poor families, and sleeping in the same bed - completely different things.

What normal adult thinks its acceptable to sleep in bed with non related children? It was obvious he was only interested in the children. If had of been an average male living in a semi parents would of kept their children away from him. A male who lived near my sister who got convicted of molesting children used to work for ginger bread, dressed up as santa every year for the christmas party and always had christmas displays at his house. Everyone thought he was a great bloke as he did repairs, collected for the charity and was a listening ear for the single mums. He did 4 years for it.

Yes it’s upsetting and he has young dc, his poor wife and dc

I'm not sure that he was a celebrity in general, but definitely to folk fans: I was very shoced and saddened by the sudden death of Paul Sartin in 2022.

MidnightMeltdown · 03/07/2025 17:08

The ones that shock me most are people in their 20s. Weirdly, lots have died at age 27 - Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Jade Goody etc. Peaches Geldof I think was even younger than this.

NewGirlInTown · 03/07/2025 17:31

David Bowie. He’d managed to keep his illness private. He released
a new album and then two days later he was gone. I’ve never been able to listen to ‘Blackstar’ since.
I’d loved him since the 70s and seen him on every tour.
Shocked and saddened.

The '27 club' is an actual thing. Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones, Jim Morrison all died at 27 (there are some others I can't recall)

Yes I'm sure there was a documentary about this a few years ago, possibly on netflix I cant remember

Michelle Takenburger earlier this year aged just 39. Love, loved her in Buffy the vampire slayer and later looking fabulous in Eurotrip 😢

JustFeedMeCake · 05/07/2025 18:33

Julian McMahon today. I didn’t know he had cancer. I loved him in Home & Away and charmed.

TheRedBear · 05/07/2025 18:36

Freddie Mercury - I was 18, a huge Queen fan and in total denial he had AIDS. I was utterly devastated and cried my heart out. One of my strongest memories is of hearing about it at 6:30am as my Dad was about to drive me to work and him giving me the biggest hug.

Robin Williams and Matthew Perry's still sadden me.

08Kwezi14 · 05/07/2025 20:13

Kobe Bryant shocked and sad
David Arnold

It’s sad, but I think a lot of people forget she battered her partner. I wonder if everyone would have been just as sad if it was her partner battering her and he died. I feel sorry for her family but she should’ve gone to prison.

She Didn’t Batter her partner, that wasn’t true.

Didn't she smash a lamp over his head when he was asleep?

She did, I don’t know why people are saying she didn’t. She admitted it and he was in a really bad way when he made the 999 phone call, it read like he was really scared.

No she threw a mobile phone at him

Andoutcomethewolves · 06/07/2025 05:11

Brittany Murphy shocked me. I loved her as a young teen in Clueless.

Do you have some kind of inside info? Because every news report at the time said she smashed a lamp on his head

No that's not true. Look at bbc news reports for one example. The actual charge was in relation to hitting him with the phone. I think the confusion was that Lewis shared a photo of her holding a lamp whilst she had blood on her clothes which is where the rumour came that she hit him with the lamp. That's not what the police were charging her with and it's not what she admitted to.

purpleygirl · 06/07/2025 06:49

Me too. I’m so glad I saw Queen at Earls Court in 1977. I can still remember it quite vividly.

Skibbgirl · 07/07/2025 10:39

Christine McVie (Fleetwood Mac) - so totally out of the blue. Yes, I am a Fleetwood Mac fan!

MackinawPeaches · 08/07/2025 04:26

Kirstie Alley
