Deleted now, but l feel so ashamed and mortified … reached out to a couple of members to apologise but no response.. it may or may not blow over but please tell me your experience of sending messages to the wrong group so l don’t feel so alone in my stupidity …

I interviewed a guy once and got a WhatsApp just afterwards saying.

"Nailed it. Man boss, he knew quickly I was the man. Lady boss was like putty in my hands 💪💪💪"

We thought he was an insufferable twat but it did give us a laugh!!

hahaaa! Love this one

Was it a sext? 🤣

Here's one that will make you feel better. A few years ago they'd been some fairly minor falling out with DB and SIL and the rest of the family. Me and DM were having a good old bitch about them privately, mostly about SIL. Turns out DMs phone had accidentally called her during the conversation and left her a voicemail of everything we said. I can't even remember what we said, and I have no idea how much she heard. We both felt absolutely terrible of course (still do to this day), poor SIL. I absolutely LOVE my SIL, she's like the sister I never had, it was just a moment of anger and I can't believe it happened. She's never brought it up since but I know she must think about it and I just feel awful how bad we must have made her feel. I wish it had been something silly or embarrassing instead of just being a terrible person having a bitch about my lovely SIL.

I had a contact at a client who was fairly - shall we say - keen.
He used to invite us to lunch and we’d chat. He once told us a story about how he’d been out on a work night, being a bit too enthusiastic with a female colleague. Except he bumdialled his wife who heard every word of him trying it on.
This is not how I operate in my romantic life so I have never had to learn that lesson but it’s always made me very wary on the rare occasion I say sth about someone who is in my contacts list… I always always check my phone to check I haven’t accidentally called anyone!

Yes!! Why was it removed?!

Bc people were using it sarcastically and nastily.

HevenlyMeS · 29/06/2025 20:05

God Bless You
I'd be immensely mortified too but I'm sure so long's the message wasn't insulting to your members of your family, then I'm sure it will be forgotten sooner than you might be worrying about
I'm praying this is the case

Futuremrsdyer · 29/06/2025 22:26

My sister sent a nude selfie to her work WhatsApp group instead of to her husband...the crazy thing is he doesn't own a mobile phone! Now that's something to be ashamed of!

I did that in a time of extreme mental breakdown (had found out that hubby had an affair one month before). I have never been forgiven by my daughter and am completely devastated by the reaction.

What did you do? Sorry if I missed your post and sorry also about what you went through with your husband. What a rat.

HevenlyMeS · 29/06/2025 22:47

Yes completely empathise & comprehend how simple it is to accidentally ring someone
I was waiting for an appointment with nurse just on Wednes & I was chatting to the receptionists when I overheard "'Hello, hello"' I'd mistakenly automatically dialled a company I'd rung the day before
Thankfully nothing embarrassing was divulged, but we do need to remember how simple it is to make these types of mistakes

Elviradoople · 29/06/2025 23:11

This happened years ago, I was watching one of my kids playing after school sports and received a text from a really nice plumber who was refitting our bathroom. It said ‘hello sexy, can’t wait for later when I’ll be going down on you and having a nice cup of tea after’. Me and the other mums howled with laughter. I didn’t get back home till about 6.30 pm, he had waited to apologise as was absolutely mortified thathe had sent it to me instead of his new girlfriend

Did what, @gradygals? Sounds serious.

cloudbusting123 · 29/06/2025 23:26

I was once working on a project where a new grad was helping me and had forgotten to book in the catering team for a meeting. She was really stressed and claimed that she had definitely done it but couldn’t find the email.

I felt bad for her as she was a lovely girl but finding the job overwhelming. So I messaged her back saying ‘don’t worry they’re useless, they’re always messing up bookings’. Obviously sent it to the catering team.

I didn’t realise until the catering team emailed back. Mortified.

I sent my exH a rather cringe message about how big my poo was and that it wouldn’t flush and that I was proud (we had an ongoing joke about this sort of thing). Except I accidentally sent it to a good friend and a work colleague. Friend called me in hysterics saying she’d read it in a work meeting and was barely able to keep a straight face. Colleague said nothing and when I mentioned and apologised he looked more embarrassed than me that I’d brought it back up. I felt embarrassed around him going forwards

Good God.

I’m sorry, but I’m wondering now why he’s your ex!

franbrad · 01/07/2025 10:05

No I am not.
I know the post you are referring to but this is totally different.

WTDress · 02/07/2025 04:28

I once sent a text to DH, can’t remember exactly what it said but it started “your bloody mother” followed by a rant. Yeah you guessed it I had sent it to MIL. As soon as I realised my phone immediately died and I was out for the day so could do nothing but cringe for several hours.

Canshehavewaferthinham · 02/07/2025 11:58

Some of these are just golden. The wiping one's bum on camera to a new date is just soul-destroying to read! And I can't get my head around WHY anyone would text ANYONE with loo roll with poo on it, heart shaped or not-and my sense of humour is known for being disgusting!

Just yesterday I experienced one. It's my birthday soon and there's a group chat for a day out we're planning, with a few friends, including a couple. One of my friends who's in the group texted the group saying she's sorry, she can't make it but hopes we all have a great time.
Next time I looked at my 'phone there was a deleted msg in the group from same friend. I rang her and she'd apparently text the group (rather than me) saying;

'IT's not that I can't make it, I'd love to come but if he's bringing her, I can't fucking stand her so I am not doing it, I'll send you some money to get yourself a few drinks!'

Personally, I've done this once with a tenant of mine. Feck knows how I managed it but I texted my then girlfriend to tell her what I wanted her to do to me in bed later that night. But I texted a tenant.

I've also sent nudes to the wrong person maybe after a bit too much wine and when I woke in the morning I had to mesg him saying 'Oh god I am so sorry!' he said that his name being Aaron means he's the first in everyone's phone book and it happens all of the time!

I also sent nudes to a colleague, similar name to my girlfriend. I worked for the police at the time which I am sure makes it a little bit worse.

Maybe stop sending nudes 🥶

Someone I know posted a video with a dildo shoved up her fanny. Was meant for someone she was messaging on Snapchat. Ended up on her story and she fell asleep.

she woke up and removed it at 11am the next day..

😂

I once sent my barber a nude (inc sack n crack) picture meant for my partner, and didnt realise. I usually would send random pictures of haircuts I liked. My barber messages later on asking if im due in for my haircut, usually went every 2 weeks at same time so would message to book me in if he was going to be busy. So agreed would be in, he then replied can you do it later so I can shut the shop. I was confused but said ok.

Turned up and he had the full back beauty room set up, ready to open razor shave everything including all that was in the picture. Didn't have the heart to say no, so got full clean shave, with my barber handling my junk.

He later expanded this as part of his business and became super successful as no one else does it. Still go back, but always avoid eye contact lol.

Gunkle1 · 04/07/2025 17:33

Also just to give even more fear for everyone, on some phones you can go into settings and see previous notifications even when they have been deleted. I've been sent a few things that got deleted before I could read, and found out you could see.

3luckystars · 04/07/2025 19:38

How do you do that?

3luckystars · 04/07/2025 19:38

Is it in WhatsApp or the actual phone settings?
