Re: I sent a cross message onto the family group instead of directly to my husband . Deleted now, but l feel so ashamed and mortified … reached out to a couple of members to apologise but no response.. it may or may not blow over but please tell me your experience of sending messages to the wrong group so l don’t feel so alone in my stupidity …

Not as bad as some of these, but sent a detailed shopping list to my boss's teenage son once, specifying "the good cheese, not that shit one you always buy".

@Bimblebombles that really made me laugh

I sent this to a client by mistake today:

Mmmm....pool ....💦🥵

Sigh. The person I was sending it to had not used "pool" in the context of swimming pool, so it was a joke. I spotted it and deleted it but don't know if it was in time!

So true .... we need it back!

No we don't. It was used to harass people. You already have a laughing emoticon. Use that.

There was a funny post on mumsnet a few weeks ago, someone had asked for an opinion on something (I think it was suitable dresses for a wedding but can’t quite remember, it was something similar) and had attached a series of photos for people to comment on.

One of the photos was of a plate of food on the arm of a chair but it was difficult to tell what the meal was meant to actually be.

The hilarious thing was that so many people questioned the OP about that photo but they completely ignored any questions and didn’t refer to it at all. I thought it might have been removed when it was obviously a mistake but it stayed and I watched the thread and it never did get clarified.

I have just tried to find the thread to link but unfortunately I seem to have lost it, other people might remember it though? It ticked me for ages that the OP was just so oblivious 😂.

Someone I know posted a video with a dildo shoved up her fanny. Was meant for someone she was messaging on Snapchat. Ended up on her story and she fell asleep.

she woke up and removed it at 11am the next day..

What did she remove at 11am...the post?!

Notashamed13 · 27/06/2025 03:03

These are brilliant! My mate is always moaning about her husband falling asleep on the sofa snoring his head off and quite frequently sends me 'wine o clock' annoyed videos of him in his dressing gown and pants inhaling and exhaling the house at 100 decibels. She managed to somehow put one on her stories for the world to see - i nearly wet myself with laughter. They are still together but ive not had a video for a while😊

Mothership4two · 27/06/2025 04:12

@Theextraordinaryisintheordinary

I once sent a text to my husband saying did I have to go to his mum and dad’s that evening as I couldn’t be arsed. Ended up sending it to his parents’ landline. His dad played it to me in the lounge, it was in a robotic voice.

😂

Ok so l wasn’t avoiding saying my balls up as it’s quite boring but it was a group chat where some members of the family were complaining that an elderly unwell relative wasn’t answering the phone to them and my message ( l thought to my husband ) was “ why are they expecting her to pick up the phone to them . …she’s not out on shenanigans, she’s in a hospital bed probably sleeping .. maybe visit her ? ” I sort of stick by what l said but l need to learn that not everyone needs to hear my opinion … even though they did !

Sounds like something I’d say directly to my family or friends so I wouldn’t lose sleep about this 😁😁

Here's one that will make you feel better. A few years ago they'd been some fairly minor falling out with DB and SIL and the rest of the family. Me and DM were having a good old bitch about them privately, mostly about SIL. Turns out DMs phone had accidentally called her during the conversation and left her a voicemail of everything we said. I can't even remember what we said, and I have no idea how much she heard. We both felt absolutely terrible of course (still do to this day), poor SIL. I absolutely LOVE my SIL, she's like the sister I never had, it was just a moment of anger and I can't believe it happened. She's never brought it up since but I know she must think about it and I just feel awful how bad we must have made her feel. I wish it had been something silly or embarrassing instead of just being a terrible person having a bitch about my lovely SIL.

I hear that 😔 l feel ashamed at the bitching in my message ( l’ve posted on here if anyone’s looking ) as the relative in question is really ill and everyone’s genuinely worried .. also my pride is hurt because l’m usually so even tempered , it’s like people have seen the worst part of me . I’m sure it won’t be mentioned again but …. I’ll survived but kind of wish the mistake had been funnier as l think that would have been easier to dismiss in my mind !

In the old days of messenger when there use to be a bug massive blue thumbs up ....so I sent my partners ex a sympathetic message as her boyfriend died, they had split up a while ago but you know I was being empathetic.
Followed the message up with the massive thumbs up ...

My husband did the good old knocked his camera on while naked on a teams call 😆😆
He was lying in bed on his side, in a panic he couldn't work out how to turn it off and threw his laptop across to room. He didn't live it down for months.

Threw his laptop across the room 😂.

I meant to reply ‘That’s hilarious! 😂😂😂’ to my sister with a text she sent about something amusing but accidentally replied to my lovely neighbour who had texted me to tell me about her husband, ‘Just to let you know, Brian has had stroke.’

I didn’t realise immediately until my neighbour replied with ‘?’.

It’s a really horrible feeling when you realise your error. Thankfully, my neighbour was fine about it.

Oh my god I actually feel terrible for laughing at this.

hypnovic · 27/06/2025 08:34

The ones offended..should clearly visit her more ..so if the boot fits 🤷‍♀️

WindySkiesAtNight · 27/06/2025 08:38

I saw something on Facebook on a womens strrength trainimg group where a lady posted a photo in her bra and knickers showing her behind saying how long she had been strength training for and getting positive comments about her progress and saying how she wanted to progress etc. This was quite normal for this group to post like this.

Except in the corner of her photo there was a photo of a man's face smiling who was clearly on a video call being shown the photo and she'd posted the screenshot of the photo.

A woman commented, well the man in the corner clearly seems to be enjoying it 😊

She was like Oopps 😳

jenny38 · 27/06/2025 08:40

I was once ill and cancelled going to MIL birthday, she was not happy and threatened to cancel all of her plans. I felt terrible letting her down and was quite upset.
Afterwards I text my mum, who replied angrily that "that fucking woman needs to understand you are ill, I won't have her doing this to you again, etc etc.
Yes you guessed it, she sent it to my MIL. To make matters worse, I had sent a further text to my mum, which she then replied to, in the same manner, plenty of personal criticism about MIL. Again she sent it to my MIL.
Then I had a phone call from a very angry MIL.....I still feel sick just thinking about it.

Not a message but a friend's father in law lent his video camera to her , her husband and 2 kids for the weekend.
They all sat round the TV to watch the kids on the weekend away , including father in law aged 80.
The recording started with father in law pleasuring himself and sex with 80 year old girlfriend.
One of the children said " Oh is that you Grandad?"

I can't remember but my friend said it was the most horrific thing she had seen and didn't realise how small and 80 year old man's penis is when erect and like everyone froze so the TV wasn't turned off immediately, 80 year old father in law needed help getting out of the arm chair but didn't need help whilst performing the act .When she was telling me she couldn't get her words out and she didn't laugh so I was trying not to

Beachtastic · 27/06/2025 09:03

@Motheroffive999 I had a similar event, years ago when my then-BF had testicular cancer and had to go for an op. He had a shower beforehand and came out of the bathroom flinging open the towel and waving his dangly bits at the camera. I suppose we were recording it for posterity.

Of course we'd forgotten all about that bit when we had a few drinks with the neighbours one Xmas and everyone was sharing their home videos.

I hope she can afford the psychotherapy bill for the kids 😆

I once seen an awful picture on the Facebook group "rate my plate".
I never reply on those but it really was disgusting looking. And anyone who knows the group will understand that much of the time people purposely post awful photos for the banter.

I cant remember the exact wording but I said something like "you must really hate your family to serve them something that looks like it's been shit out"

Only it wasn't Rate my plate. It was my local slimmingworld group page.I'd misread and posted that in reply to a members photo of her actual dinner.

I only realised once the leader inboxed me and said I'd really upset one of her members and she had to delete the post.

I never went back there again. Absolutely fucking mortified. 🙈

Edited

Best thing I’ve ever read 😂😂😂😂😂😬😬😬😬😬

My best friend had fancied a man she worked with for months but he had a girlfriend. He eventually split with her and after another few weeks he asked out my friend. He asked her out by calling via FaceTime with the video switched on and they chatted for a while.

My friend called me straight after brimming with excitement, it was also FaceTime but just audio, the call was quite long during which she needed the toilet, she said she had to hang up because she needed a poo and didn’t want to poo whilst she was on the phone…

She hung up the phone to me and put her phone on the floor next to her feet with the screen facing upwards, what she didn’t realise was she hadn’t locked her phone after ending the call to me and had somehow been on her open calls list and redialled the man she fancied on FaceTime video again.

The call connected and he got a full view of her on the toilet, she then stood up to wipe her bum (yes some people do stand up) basically right over the camera so he got a full view of her wiping her bum.

The kindest thing would have been that he didn’t mention what had happened and just cancelled the date, unfortunately he seemed to believe she’d done it deliberately as some sort of weird kink and sent her a text detailing exactly what he’d seen and how disgusted he was.

We laugh now but at the time it nearly destroyed her, she left her job and was so mortified about it, she was also paranoid about who he had told and didn’t go out for ages.

I think that’s far worse then sending a wrong text!

Dear Lord, these are hilarious.
I think some of these are total classics.
How on earth would you ever feel shame again when you compare it to your poor friend.
Phones are dangerous. Particularly WhatsApp.
Lethal in ditzy hands.
