I fear I have been misunderstood ..

Obviously you can't ignore a fucking huge plane crash. However I was (possibly too subtly) suggesting this may not be the thread for any loose speculation as I see one has already been pulled.

I wasn't speculating, though. None of us have been.

itsgettingweird · 12/06/2025 16:38

We have bbc news on now.

Plenty of speculation being reported I don’t see an issue if we report “x has said”

Saucery · 12/06/2025 16:50

News have even reported the seat no. of the single survivor, which seems a bit too much imo.

He was apparently still clutching his boarding pass when he emerged from the wreckage - there's a really disturbing clip of him in the Guardian

I saw that briefly on BBC News. Too ghoulish and intrusive to me. But that’s the way most news outlets are going these days.

Not surprisingly he was in the seat right next to the emergency exit. Can't help feeling the poor bloke could get dreadful survivor's guilt after this.

Yes he was sitting next to his brother who didn't survive

I agree, it made me uncomfortable watching it. The poor man Sad

Talking about news outlets

Still wondering about that preposterous 25 May Telegraph story about “investment bankers” Al and Alexandra Moy and their children Ali, Harry and Barry? @ privateeyenews.bsky.social has more!

”We earn £345k but soaring private school fees mean we can't go on five holidays”

It's awful. To be the sole survivor is going to take a lot of care mentally. No news about those killed on the ground.

placemats · 12/06/2025 18:41

Meanwhile orange one's take on it:

"Nobody had any idea what happened. It looks like it was flying just fine.". According to the Guardian.

I really, really hope Mr Ramesh won't become the subject of conspiracy theories.

That thought never entered my head. 😮How disgusting is it to spread such nonsense about that?

I don't think it is happening at the moment, but it did cross my mind that it could. There were already some vile posts on X, so not a massive leap, sadly.

PandoraSocks · 12/06/2025 19:38

Just went on X out of curiosity. It is starting. People are scum.

countrygirl99 · 12/06/2025 20:08

There were vile comments as soon as the crash was announced.

Sad but true.

also it crossed my mind about it when I heard a news report say something along the lines of questions will be asked about how he was the sole survivor.

Im not sure being the sole survivor is going to be the great news story for him that the media portray it as. He’s going to need a lot of decent therapy - agree about survivors guilt.

I hope he’s ok.

Reports that Israel’s attacked Iran this morning. This can’t be good.

DuncinToffee · 13/06/2025 09:16

It's very bad

Very worrying indeed. And not unexpected after the US withdrawal of staff from the ME.

According to the Times parents and private schools have lost their legal battle against VAT on fees in the High Court.
