I've never watched Sex and the city.
I've never read Harry potter.

Is there anything you haven't read or watched.
Sometimes I think things are over hyped.

I've never watched Survivor or any of The Bachelor type "competitions".
I haven't read The Great Gatsby..I tried, but it bored me.

I don’t remember the ending of the casual vacancy on tv , but I did watch it. I can remember the book ending though.
I never did get the hype of Sex and the city and Friends. Watched a few over the years and left me cold.

That’s a shame. It’s a devastatingly sad story, Gatsby. Awful and tragic and no hope of justice, but beautifully written.

A friend who worked in a book shop sent me a photo of a page of 50 Shades when someone in my book group chose it. She captioned it “why you’d rather gnaw off a limb than read this.”

It was a good point well made

It's not a shame, people like different things. I've read it a couple if times over the decades and it's not a book for me either.

RaraRachael · 05/06/2025 23:08

I've never watched anything by David Attenborough

I've never read any "Classics"

mindingmyown37 · 05/06/2025 23:10

Dr who was never the same after Patrick Troughton left.

For me, Dr Who was Jon Pertwee. I stopped watching it after he left and didn't watch it again until Chris Eccleston was the Dr. I stopped watching it again after David Tennant left and haven't seen it since.

Jane958 · 06/06/2025 08:01

Game of Thrones
Sex & the City
The Crown
Any UK tv programme broadcast between the late 1980s and 2013, unless videoed and sent to me
Nothing on any streaming channels as I do not subscribe

I’d watch the film with Leonardo di Caprio, it’s very true to the book (which is unusual!)

minnienono · 06/06/2025 10:50

A marvel movie or similar, don’t like superhero type stuff. Avoid fantasy and sci-fi too

DancefloorAcrobatics · 06/06/2025 10:56

Never read anything by Shakespeare or Jane Austin or Agatha Christie... and don't intend to do so either!
...but absolutely love the old Miss Marple films especially the ones with Margaret Rutherford! Same with Jane Austin, I really like some of the film adaptations.
Shakespeare on the other hand is a total waste of time!
BTW I am an avid reader!

Alittlemoreconversationplease · 06/06/2025 11:01

Never watched:

Star Wars
Game of Thrones
Any reality series that involves celebrities or random people gathered in a house or castle or jungle.
No quiz shows apart from University Challenge
No entertainment competitions like the Voice, Strictly, BGT, pottery wotsit.
No emergency, health or rescue programmes based in hospital ER rooms, police cars, lifeboats, or operating theatres.
No cooking or travel shows apart from when Monty Don travelled the Adriatic but that was a gardening show really

I don’t even watch any televised news nowadays.

Favourite all time TV series:
the Derry Girls

Mate, you’re missing out. Austen is the bomb. Properly funny.

Never read pride and prejudice
Never watched pride and prejudice

I tried for over 20 years to read it, never getting past the first chapter, and despite it not really being my think (I'm more of a Beats kind of girl). I even tried Pride and Prejudice and Zombies to see if that helped, but nope. Then last year, I read it in one sitting and really loved it, so you never know!

Whataninterestinglookingpotato · 06/06/2025 13:34

I’ve never watched married at first sight.
I’ve never read 50 shades.

i HAVE seen Pride and Prejudice and Zombies 😄

RaraRachael · 06/06/2025 16:40

I managed 3 pages of Pride and Prejudice 😅

LillyPJ · 06/06/2025 16:57

I've never read Great Expectations or Bleak House. In fact, A Christmas Carol is the only Dickens I've managed to get through. (Fact: The Muppets Christmas Carol is the best film version ever.)

Amen to that!
Also Michael Kane's greatest performance.

ChessorBuckaroo · 06/06/2025 17:19

Not fact. Scrooge (1970) with Albert Finney.

It's also a lovely follow up to Oliver! (1968) starring the greatest double act in the history of cinema, Fagin (Ron Moody) and Dodger (Jack Wild).
