Do you want to be buried/cremated with a Bra on

I for one rarely wear one as they are so darn uncomfortable and I never gave the undertaker one for my mum but I never realised this was such a bone of contention, excuse the pun.

Are you a with or without or simply don’t care?

My daughter says she will haunt anyone who puts her eternally in a Bra.

Nope, I’ve told my family, I want to be cremated with my jammies and woolly socks on.

MerryPortas · 27/05/2025 19:52

I h ave never given it a thought!

MirrorMirror1247 · 27/05/2025 19:52

I've never thought about it! But like a PP, I want to be in nice jammies, so I guess it makes sense not to have a bra.

I have never given it any consideration but I would assume yes.

But then I've never found bras uncomfortable and never recognised the trope of women removing them as soon as they get home.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 27/05/2025 19:53

See

I like the thought of being sexy in eternity

Id hate to die (and be cremated) like I am now, pre breast lift 😭😭 with my boobs just flopping to the side

So maybe, if i died before I get my mummy makeover - with a bra

After - no bra, creamed and smelling of burberry goddess, fully waxed 🥰 then into the fire, before being spread across the Atlantic

(Fingers crossed I don't die until I'm close to 100 though)

Rowgtfc72 · 27/05/2025 19:53

When my mum died I carefully ironed all her clothes, including tights, knickers and her bra. She was a stickler for not being creased and was obsessed I would be run over with unironed underwear.
It didn't cross my mind not to send her off in a bra. Maybe a generational thing.
Eternity in a bra? No thanks.

sanityisamyth · 27/05/2025 19:54

Not really thought about it, but as a 34JJ chest, I might need a wider coffin if they’re flopping to the side!

Dearg · 27/05/2025 19:56

😂 I had not thought of it until you asked. Not sure they’d cremate you in one, or at least not a wired one.

I will have to go and pick out an outfit to stipulate in my wishes. Probably dog walking clothes with a pocket of treats as I fully expect my lovely, late , labrador will want a walk and a lot of treats, by the time I get there.

21ZIGGY · 27/05/2025 19:56

Absolutely not. I want my bras cremating. I want fluffy pjs and socks and a good pillow

AppleKatie · 27/05/2025 19:57

It’s never occurred to me before but u quite fancy the idea of super comfy pjs and socks although I always fancy that idea and don’t often have any that fit nicely 🤔

Absolutely hate socks. Would rather spend eternity in a bra than in socks.

Olog · 27/05/2025 19:58

Just indifferent! Cremate me with or without a bra, don’t care what my body wears once’s I’m long gone!

Joolsin · 27/05/2025 19:58

I met a funeral director at a party a few weeks ago and I asked her so many questions ... I think she was a bit creeped out by me tbh!!! But it never occurred to me to ask your question, op, such an interesting one!!

Readytohealnow · 27/05/2025 20:00

Had literally never thought of this. But we did drop one off at the undertakers with the outfit for my beloved gran. I hate the idea that she died without underwear on, she was so dignified and she would have hated that she just had a nappy and a scruffy top on :(

nahthatsnotforme · 27/05/2025 20:02

I bought my late MIL a beaded and diamanté top to wear in the funeral home, cos that was her style

WilfredsPies · 27/05/2025 20:04

I wonder if your ghost outfit is the outfit you die in, or the outfit you’re cremated/buried in?

user1471453601 · 27/05/2025 20:08

Unless it's one of the rare days when I leave the house, when I do wear a bra (about 12/15 times a year) I'd pity the poor funeral director who had to put my uneven boobs into a bra and make them life like.

Given I've opted for a straight from wherever I am when I die to an incinerator, I'm fairly confident no bras will be involved in my death or my funeral.

But if it happens, that I die on these rare occasions I actually leave home wearing a bra, I'm confident I won't care.

RaininSummer · 27/05/2025 20:10

I have actually never considered this. In my mind there wouldn't be any clothing needed when going to the furnace.

OnePearlHelper · 27/05/2025 20:12

No way! I will haunt the person who made the decision to put a bra on me. 🤣

comoatoupeira · 27/05/2025 20:13

amazing username!

SaintAgatha · 27/05/2025 20:16

Death would finally bring a use for the Lemonade Dolls bra I bought, and which is virtually useless for real life.

minnienono · 27/05/2025 20:20

they remove all metal before cremation so not an underwired one!

minnienono · 27/05/2025 20:22

I will check for you all tomorrow what the rules are as I’m having cake and coffee with the local funeral directors (I host funerals!)

sorrynotathome · 27/05/2025 20:24

I have never found bras to be uncomfortable, so don't care. Oh and also I will be DEAD.

What a thing to think about.
I would want to be cremated with whatever I had on at time of death. I wouldn’t want someone dressing me up in a fancy bra or anything else to be cremated. Would you want wired or none wired bra. Yuck, metal wire burning into your flesh during cremation.
