What is the best MCds burger?

Aside from the fillet fish obviously. A CRIMINALLY underrated burger.

We also have a Dijon mustard chicken burger here that is fantastic (which is a good fillet fish meal chaser!)

I’m ancient and I’ve never eaten a MacD’s burger. They don’t look remotely appetising but I have taken DS to other fast food places like Nando’s and Supermacs if we’re in the city.

shudder at nando's...

Chilli double cheeseburger 😋

Oh they are vile. At least the one I had, absolute slop pouring out of it. I actually took it back 🤣

I have to step in here as I'm from Nandos country.

I have to assume they aren't all the same or your menu is different.

Nothing is beating a boujee bowl (rice and chicken with some other nice bits in) or peri peri chicken livers. But as far as burgers go, they are also quite decent.

They have to be as we have a lot of chicken fast food options, so lots of competition.

And their marketing team are excellent 😂 they never miss a trick when something is doing down. They might even be more famous for their ads than their chicken.

That said, McDonald's is way cheaper....

Triple cheeseburger or Grande Big Mac, and I don't like Big Macs. Have no idea what's different, guessing it's the ratio of bun to burger or something, but the Grandes are amazing!

Big tasty and it needs to be on the standard full time menu!

Agreed never understood why they only put them on sometimes.

None. Go to Burger King and get a bacon double cheeseburger instead!

But this is thread about McDonald's not Burger king 🙄

It's a lighthearted thread about different burgers, not a political debate! Did you get out of bed the wrong side this morning?😄

Tomatotater · 22/05/2025 07:55

My late dad used to go and look at the McDonals menu and see what was different on them. We used to roll our eyes when we were kids but I do it now!

MintChocCat · 22/05/2025 07:58

My go to burger orders are: Quarter pounder with cheese, Chicken sandwich or Big Mac 😋 depending on my mood!!

Toddlerteaplease · 22/05/2025 10:22

My mum has a filet o fish with just the fish. No sauce or anything else. 🙄

Riverswims · 22/05/2025 10:30

I’m poor and dim, currently trying to pay a bill for a house I no longer live in, I’d love the spicy veggie wrap meal chips need to be hot with proper coke please

piscofrisco · 22/05/2025 10:30

My go to is the classic Big Mac but I also very much enjoy a McCrispy with extra mayo.
dd2 is in thrall to the McSpicy but I’ve never indulged in it so can’t judge.

But this is thread about McDonald's not Burger king 🙄

There is a vast difference between some idiot going "Oh I can't possible imagine eating a McDonalds! I would rather DIE" and someone going "MCds not my thing BUT in this almost the same Burger restaurant I like XXX"

And its my thread, I vote its acceptable

My daughter never likes to eat the bun of whatever burger she has so sometimes I have the bun and put a load of fries in it with tomato sause.
I call it "The McButty".

(McDonald's.....if you are reading you can steal that if you want. I don't mind)

2ndbestslayer · 22/05/2025 11:03

I prefer a burger king burger but the service in ours is shit. Last time I had a plant based whopper the patty was rock solid like a bloody hockey puck. They forget half your order if you go through the drive though. When I've had them on Uber eats some of the order had been cold.

I used to love a bean burger before they became so useless.

MintChocCat · 22/05/2025 11:56

All this talk of burgers and I quite want one now 😂

Anyone try the chicken Big Mac?! Now that was 🤤 🤤

Glad you agree 🤩 I want it now!

One of the only foods I could keep down in my early third trimester was Big Mac sauce with MacDs fries. I used to go to the drive through with dog in the boot. He got the burgers. Grin I still get a Big Mac on occasion for nostalgia purposes. I usually have a chicken wrap in an attempt to be healthy. DD thinks bacon double cheeseburgers are life. Esp with a choc milkshake. I sometimes get a happy meal if there are dinosaurs or dragons involved as DD now 'too old'.

I prefer Burger King simply because McDonalds just don't do a burger that has everything I want in it! I want burger patties, lettuce (proper juicy lettuce, not nasty dry leaves) tomato and raw onion. I have not found - ever- a McDonald's burger that contains tomato, and I was EXTREMELY disappointed by the last 'special' burger I had (can't remember the name) which said it had lettuce and raw onion in it as well as all the other stuff. It wasn't lettuce. It was some other kind of leaf that was dry and did not provide the juicy freshness I was craving.

I don't care what other stuff they put in there as I can choose not to have it. I don't want mayo, special sauce, pickles, cheese, cheese sauce, anything barbecue or spicy. I just want meat, lettuce, tomato, raw onion and tomato sauce! Crispy onions are OK but not necessary. Cooked onions are OK. Those ridiculous little bits of dehydrated onion McDonalds put in their regular burgers are NOT OK. I like the burger relish that my local chippy puts in their burgers and which you can buy in the supermarket, but I've never seen a burger with that in at any of the mainstream burger places in the UK.

Oh - and NOT a brioche bun! An ordinary burger bun with sesame seeds on it please!

The Big Tasty has tomato and raw onion in!

I completely agree with you. I’m always complaining (to my husband, not McDonalds) when they bring out a new limited edition burger that it doesn’t contain tomato. Tomatoes make a burger but I understand why they don’t put them in because so many people dislike tomato.

My favourite is the Big Tasty, followed by a double quarter pounder with cheese and bacon or a Big Mac. We normally share a side of chicken tenders as well.

Filet o Fish always gets mentioned on threads like these but I’ve yet to try one. I’m not sure about the concept of the chicken Big Mac either - having only had the normal Big Mac I can’t imagine the sauce goes well with chicken. It just doesn’t appeal.

I’m always disappointed when they bring out a new burger, especially if it contains BBQ sauce like a lot of them do because I don’t like it. I’ll often try the special but always revert back to one of the classics if I go again when they special is still on.

My sister used to order Big macs without the meat 😆

None. So so much better burgers available at many other places. Unless you're very poor or a bit dim I don't understand why you'd buy a burger at McDonald's.

Oh dear someone didn't read the question properly.

Not poor or dim here either, McPlant of 1/4pounder with cheese for me. Fries and diet coke plus some bbq sauce for the fries.

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 22/05/2025 13:17

I was absolutely convinced the Quarter pounder had tomato in! Apparently I am incorrect!

But I do love the flexibility in Burger King (Am I allowed to talk about BK? Will the thread police handcuff me?) of adding tomato, raw onion and lettuce
