What is the best MCds burger?

Aside from the fillet fish obviously. A CRIMINALLY underrated burger.

We also have a Dijon mustard chicken burger here that is fantastic (which is a good fillet fish meal chaser!)

I'm tempted to be a greedy cow and add an extra patty to my McPlant burger next time I order it, so I can have a sort of double burger, but I'd probably end up in even more of a mess than usual if I did. 😅

Right, so this wasn't really the thread to post on then was it

Well, that's never stopped some people...

Oh my god! YES! that's it! Thanks for the memory! I feel like I can taste it!

Fucking excellent burger

I've never had a McPlant but have eaten MCds with a friend who ordered one and I don't understand how they're so messy!

@bostonchampswill this do? I’m late 50s and have only ever eaten McDs twice in my life, first time aged mid 30s! I do hope you’re enjoying our nuggets (am partial to Leon GFC nuggets)

By far the worst meal I have ever eaten was from Leon in Liverpool Street Station. I wish Id just gone to McDonalds!
I only have a quarter pounder with cheese. Find the Big Mac too sloppy. I love a Filet o Fish but yes, its a bit small.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 21/05/2025 19:19

My McDonald's is a double cheeseburger, extra mustard, extra onions, hold the pickles.

GinBlossom94 · 21/05/2025 19:27

You want a double quarter pounder and ask them to put Big Mac sauce in, thank me later

That is a fine idea! I'm doing it, who cares about the mess.

I think it's just me. 😅 Last time I had one half the tomato and most of the lettuce fell out and I got vegan mayo or whatever the sauce is all over my fingers. Maybe I should use a knife and fork like my grandparents would have. Or just try opening my gob a bit wider. 😅

VerityUnreasonble · 21/05/2025 19:33

I once had a really good burger with goats cheese from their "Signature" collection in Spain. Was always sad I've never seen it here.

Quarter pounder is my usual choice.

I’m sure there used to be a double McPlant on the menu. 🤔

No not just you, she looked like she had thrown it in a bath and rolled around in it!

Not for takeout in Glasgow which is how we usually get ours. EP it is.

Blarn · 21/05/2025 19:44

McCrispy. I buy free range, organic chicken when I can from local farmers, use every bit of them, make my own stock with the bones, if I can't get this particular fench mayonnaise I make my own. But I bloody love a McCrispy with bacon.

aPathologicalPeoplePleaser · 21/05/2025 19:45

Sausage McMuffin is sublime, but that is not really a burger I suppose it doesn’t count?

so:
Big Mac - eaten in separate layers for extra deliciousness.
Or mcChicken Sandwich with an added slice of cheese- beautiful and guaranteed to be freshly made.
Or a plain cheeseburger hits the spot after an afternoon of day drinking. Perfect

Disclaimer: I am neither poor, nor dim. Although I am shocked at the price of a Big Mac meal these days, I remember when they were £2.89!

MagickTrick · 21/05/2025 19:45

Chilli double cheeseburger 😋

Blarn · 21/05/2025 19:48

The worst McDonalds burger was the one which dh and I had in a delivery which was not ours. It was about two in the morning and we'd been on a rare night out. What arrived instead of our completly normal drunken treat order was a Big Mac with extra onions and 2x gherkins. Whoever ordered that was a monster.

PorgyandBess · 21/05/2025 19:48

I last had a McD’s as a teen in the 80s. I didn’t even know about a McPlant. I’d quite like to try one.

McDonald’s is what gave me a lifelong adoration of gherkins.

ClassicalQueen · 21/05/2025 19:51

Quarter pounder with cheese, can’t go wrong. I’m also not poor or dim, however it’s nice for a treat and it’s conveniently located.

My top tip to eating a Big Mac in order to reduce the sloppiness is to bite and twirl. Bite and twirl. So bite, then turn the burger slightly anti clockwise then bite again then turn. So you are eating the circumference in rotation rather than eating in a forward motion like a sandwich. Bit like picking dairy petals really.

It tends to maintain the structural integrity of the burger, IME Also good for a Big Tasty. To a pp - the Big Tasty has fresh tomato in it. Glorious.

Moonlightfrog · 21/05/2025 19:57

CocoLocoPocoMoco · 21/05/2025 16:09

I just feel like the simple double cheeseburger has the right meat to bread ratio. A normal cheeseburger is too bready.

I agree

Bubblebubblepoppop · 21/05/2025 19:58

Double cheeseburger with extra pickle if I want a beef burger. I'm so glad lots of people agree it's the perfect ratio of meat to bread.

McSpicy if I want chicken, it's a really nice flavour.

Years ago they did a limited edition lamb burger for like a week or two. It was really, really good.

I'm not dim or poor, in fact I'm clever in that I KNOW I'm saving money by getting something that will definitely hit the spot rather than paying though the nose for a shoddy Nandos or Leon etc which has vastly gone down in quality and quantity yet the prices are extortionate. For less than three quid I will savour that double cheeseburger far more than a sorry looking dry chicken pitta.

GingerPanda · 21/05/2025 20:13

I remember when you could get pepperoni pizza at McD. It was lush.

I shall try your method. I may report back. There's also fresh tomato in the McPlant. 🍅
