To lose one party chairman may be regarded as a misfortune, Farage ; to lose (insert number here) looks like carelessness.

Piggywaspushed · 05/06/2025 17:50

He is probably right this minute saying 'who can tell the difference anyway?'.

PandoraSocks · 05/06/2025 17:51

This has cheered me up. Reform will fall apart before the next GE, I am certain.

They are trying to dazzle, to mesmorise. To be all things to all men (especially men). Not so much a moving target, as a moving lack of principles. You won't be able to tell on any given day what they don't believe in.

It will work, or course. For some values of "work". If the can but Brexit, it'll buy any old shit.

It's odd they have chosen to burn all of their fuel at once. It's like someone has told them they can force a general election whenever they like. Let's hope they kept the receipts.

PandoraSocks · 05/06/2025 18:07

Funny you should say that @serendipityjane I have seen a few MN posts saying they don't think Labour will last the full term. How they think that will happen is a mystery. Even if Starmer was ousted there wouldn't be a GE.

bombastix · 05/06/2025 18:10

It’s vastly more likely that Farage has decided he’s reached a critical mass with voters and doesn’t need Yusuf any more. Someone else will be lined up, be sure of that.

What’s more remarkable is that Yusuf didn’t see it coming. There was plenty of precedent

Really hope so!

& i hope this is something Labour will take note of.... Don't go to the 'right

Yusuf;

“I’ve worked full time as a volunteer to take the party from 14 to 30%, quadrupled its membership and delivered historic electoral results. I no longer believe working to get a Reform government elected is a good use of my time, and hereby resign the office.”

yes. Outlived usefulness. Maybe he could give his time to the Conservatives. They could do with the help

Or Labour to be quite honest @bombastix !

bombastix · 05/06/2025 19:05

That made me laugh @PandoraSocks

Yes Labour need a shot in the arm - perhaps Yusuf can give Rachel Reeves some pointers. She really needs them

It will be another election. Wilders' plans for asylum would never have worked because they were illegal under several points of international law, so now he's had a tantrum because his coalition partners won't implement them. Why are the far right always so pathetic?

Geert Wilders party is a lesson for us all. Like Nigel Farage invited to non-political shows (Nigel in the jungle, Geert on the otherwise excellent improv show De Lamas), like Reform a number of people with dubious pasts or views.

Thankfully the Netherlands has PR.

Not just Yusuf, one of the Doge team, baseball cap Fried, decided to quit too

I expect he was on Yusef’s payroll.

Who went first, Musk or Yusuf?

Musk I think, it was last week wasn’t it?

PandoraSocks · 05/06/2025 20:30

The whole Reform DOGE effort is so cringeworthy. At best, they'll find Mavis from Housing Benefit is using too many paper clips or something.

Maybe he wanted to WFH but Reform can't allow that, what would their frothing disciples think!

Willowkins · 05/06/2025 21:43

Apparently the Kent DOGE Team have found £2.8M of irregularities - unfortunately for them this had all been reported back in May 2024 as found by the KCC audit team. Could this be the reason N Fried stepped back - because he needs more complex problems?
