Idiotam habemus - Trumpum the Bigly XXX - Trump thread #143

No grey smoke necessary.

First 100 days have come and gone. Vance has killed the Pope, Musk is melting away and Trump's tariffs are on a slow boat to China.

Coming soon... Bigly's Birthday Parade. What could possibly go wrong?

Returning to the meeting of Mark Carney with #47 earlier in the week, I’ve just seen this (screenshot showing Stephen Miller on Fox News) on X. I continue to have difficulty with understanding why this administration is not being laughed off the international political stage by the rest of the world leaders.

How kind of him to compliment Carney that way.

*I only read the text, didn't watch the video, so I can tell myself that's what it was. And, quite frankly, I'm happier that way.

Trump's "big" trade deal is with the UK:

  • It's a framework not a deal
  • They're our 11th largest trading partner
  • They're only 3% of US trade (97% to go)
  • They already charge average tariffs of only 1% (limited upside)

It's a photo op, not a macroeconomically significant moment.

It seems Mandy has drawn the short straw and will play the part of the sacrificial lamb during today's Oval Office announcement. It's already been pushed back to 3.30pm UK time.

Igotjelly · 08/05/2025 15:18

Rubio to speak to Pakistan, with the US apparently tiding the lead in de-escalation efforts…. God help us.

MigsandTiggs · 08/05/2025 15:58

Trump hasn't mentioned chlorine washed chicken and hormone beef as being part of the negotiations. If Starmer agrees to those, expect 'tea' party style protests.

Details to be written up over the next few weeks.

Nice to hear Starmer avoiding saying Mr President and settling for Donald instead - subtle but effective slight.

Serpentstooth · 08/05/2025 16:04

Trump reached for Mandy's hand. He flinched 😅 he does not look happy..

Serpentstooth · 08/05/2025 16:05

We're getting the beef? Thanks USA but you'll be disappointed in the sales.

MigsandTiggs · 08/05/2025 16:14

LOL. Beef!

MrTiddlesTheCat · 08/05/2025 16:17

So how's the Good Friday Agreement holding up? That beef could be more explosive than anything that came out of NI.

Serpentstooth · 08/05/2025 16:19

Yup. Bigly's Best and Most Tremendous Beef on its way to a burger near you.

JoshLymanSwagger · 08/05/2025 16:22

We're just lucky we weren't offered the magic beans too.🤦🏻‍♀️
